There is a libretro/RetrArch Discord server where all of the active mame2003-plus developers (as well as a lot of other RA and core devs) can be reached. This is a direct link to the Discord channel, where I can be PM'd or tagged in #programming: https://discord.gg/C4amCeV

The other way that mame2003-plus developers tend to communicate is via github. It so happens that grant already has an issue stubbed out to talk about documentation related to input and input remapping: https://github.com/libretro/mame2003-plus-libretro/issues/329

I got ahold of them no good :( but we have another dev to ask, no worries red batman, ill push this to go forward, i got a answer from another dev but he said he would make a mod but not for 1 person and for only 1 game/ 2d games unless we get alot of people asking for it but thanks for reply and keep the hard studying up buddy thanks

@niculinux No one hinders you to start such a project. Most things can be set up by dialogs now so you may integrate most wanted features in just one menu. But I really doubt the essential need.

No, it's not. Does Ubuntu provide a version for Raspberry PI which is easier and better supported than Raspbian ? RetroPie already supports Ubuntu - on the PC.

@jkacza Sorry to say but i lost the scripts a while ago. Did a fresh install of RetroPie and forgot to back them up. Didnt bother to rewrite them as i moved the pi to a flirc case and there isnt much room and useful mounting points for a led.

But iirc the scripts were simple. Used this as a template:

Connected a RGB led to the gpio pins and wrote scripts for startup, game launch and game end.

libretro reicast does work on the pi, but the performance is trash.
I've been testing and the libretro reicast just works, isn't as functional as the standalone one, there are bugs and is slow. the only advantage is the naomi support.

EDIT: I should have said that is still experimental and you have to compile it yourself.

You can also set how much time this will be displayed before launching the game. What would be a nice option is if you could set it to stay onscreen until a button is pushed. I don't think this is available today.

pressing q or escape on the keyboard will close the image and launch the game, then you can set image_delay to a high number of seconds. the only thing left to do would be map one of those 2 keys to your controller, but i'm unsure if this would require any changes to the scripts in ~/RetroPie-Setup/scriptmodules/supplementary/runcommand/

@mayki I would imagine it would have to be code inside of emulationstation that would know what you have selected and what system. So far from what I've seen online, users have gotten dynamic marquees to work inside of mame and using hyper spin. I haven't seen a retropie example yet.

@mesym Well I don't know what's wrong but this worked for me. It starts Tetris and shows me pointer adress. Something wrong with your py-fu?

Sure, it might work, since it's a libretro core, but it would only be usable on a PC. I think it would run too slow on a SBC/Raspberry Pi.

Hello! First, thanks @psyke83 for the great work on the ps3/ps4 controllers support in RetroPie.

What is the current status of the driver/procedure for latest RetroPie 4.4 on Debian Stretch to use ps3/ps4 controllers? Are the instructions in https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/PS3-Controller still the preferred method at the moment to use these controllers?

I don't get it. Which GUI do you mean, EmulationStation, RetroArch or what? And why should it be toggle able? If it's for EmulationStation, why not split the roms into the different systems?
