Ah brilliant! I really appreciate the information and a huge time saver on future builds. I struggled a bit with understanding the Retroarch inputs/labels are fixed positions on the controllers that can be changed based on the selected inputs used when setting up your devices. I have it straight in my head but I still find it hard to explain. I appreciate this new information and it will be a huge time saver!

I figured it out, i accidently clicked install binaries and it seemed like it was reinstalling retropie, everything is ok now, nothing dissapeared, so no need to transfer everything back again.

@wetriner Ah, I do see it in there.

I had to set up the hotkey bindings and all the input1 bindings - even though the controller is set up in Emulationstation, it didn't propagate to the PSX emulator.

For mame hiscores it depends on what mame emulator you are running. lr-mame2003 supports hiscores but i haven't tested it yet.

well, it very much could happen in the fork: https://github.com/Herdinger/EmulationStation/issues

i suggest raising an issue here. my hope is that eventually retropie will adopt this fork, once it starts to have beneficial features.

    @deadpool There's this section in the retroarch.cfg

    # The maximum rate at which content will be run when using fast forward. (E.g. 5.0 for 60 fps content => 300 fps cap). # RetroArch will go to sleep to ensure that the maximum rate will not be exceeded. # Do not rely on this cap to be perfectly accurate. # If this is set at 0, then fastforward ratio is unlimited (no FPS cap) fastforward_ratio = 0

I don't know if this is a very healthy setting to be using, or how much it even effectively speeds things up. There doesn't seem to be a way to get the really zippy frameskipping fastforward that you find with a lot of pc emulators. At least, I haven't come across it yet.

Yeah, I use rpi-update to update my kernel. I guess I'm a little OCD that way. Thanks to the pointer on downgrading the kernel, I'll give that a try tomorrow.

There are problems with PS3 controllers crashing currently with the built in bluetooth - https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/issues/1360

RPI3 install is the same as the RPI2

@davebtiller generally just read the documentation first as requested here and it will answer the majority of your questions before you have to ask:

    https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first

The logs vary depending on what the issue is so it just depends.

    Hi,

Perfect, thanks. Just before I read your reply I had stumbled upon it myself - I suddenly realised the script copies the gamelist.xml and images elsewhere (so I was looking in the wrong place), should have known that really.

I see you have updated the script already to remove though, cheers!

Just going to note this. I am using the BerryBoot version. Just grabbed the Berryboot image from the main site, chose the os Retropie 3.6 from other category.
I get much stabler overscan settings. And my screen is properly stretched to fit. Trying to determine which settings they are getting right will update you when I figure it out.
