@jorgito13 the problem with the old compatibility table is RetroPie has changed its underlying OS over the years and all the emulators have been updated since it's creation, so it would be safe to say that some of those entries may not be all that accurate anymore. The new table while not as enriched, is auto-generated based on the lastest XML DAT file used by the core. The entries on that list mirror the warning flags assigned internally by the drivers, so it should be some what accurate with the state of those games.

If there is a particular piece of information you want to be added to the new list, or sorting method. I maybe able to update DAT Magic (what builds those lists) to auto-generate some of those features.

To answer your previous question: yes, the Vulkan driver provides noticeble better performance with the Flycast, Dolphin, and PPSSPP emulators. The extent of the improvement depends on the game.

I am also building a handheld for myself right now, so getting to the point. The first component you gotta figure out is which Single board computer to go for, which depends on what games you want to play. After you've figured that out, then, you can head on over to figuring out other components.

A fix for this issue has been added to RetroPie-Setup, making the splashscreen work on any HDMI connected port on the current/old Buster release.

Hello, i recently bought a cabinet that had, what appears to be, a very old i-pac ps/2 controller in it. This particular version does not look like the one on the website here:

It does not look like that. The model in my cabinet has two ps/2 ports on opposite ends. They are labeled PC and KBD.

Question is will retropie support this old ipac controller via a ps/2 to usb controller? And if so would I follow the programming instructions here?

I'm not sure, but if the IPAC identifies as a keyboard and it works without additional drivers, then it should be ok - RetroPie (or Linux rather) can use the keyboard.

To answer your question - there's no repository with old binaries. If you downloaded the image from 2017 it should contain the emulators from that time, there's no need to download something again.

Are you sure you weren't using the standalone PS1 emulator instead of the libretro core ? Perhaps you changed some settings to speed up the libretro core, which are now not present in a default RetroPie image (old and/or new).

OK, the version is fine; I just have to test 320x240, the lowest working resolution I can generate now is 480p. Could be that vlc behaves differently at such lower resolution and instead of resizing, it just crops the image.

It came up in a Github issue [1] a while ago, it's not something that's easy to spot. It was reported in the Pi5 topic that's pinned, but due to users posting any error they found on a Pi5 it's a bit difficult to find now.

7. Final Steps

Scripts need to be executable!
After placing the scripts in their respective directories, this can be done by running:

chmod +x /home/pi/led_ram_daemon.sh chmod +x /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation/scripts/system-select/led_ram_systems.sh chmod +x /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation/scripts/game-select/led_ram_games.sh

Rebooting Pi to ensure the daemon starts properly and the LED color patterns are correctly applied.
