i did put the same .exe back and everything is working again. i think my anti virus just got abit paranoid about the gameslist.xml it was creating perhaps

@mr_smt That seems to look like a warning, but it might indicate that your installation does not have hardware accelerated graphics (maybe due to running in a vm) and the emulator needs it in order to run.

I'd suggest to use something that's native to your os (macOS) like OpenEmu or RetroArch. You could also use AttractMode as a frontend, in combination with RetroArch, if the default RetroArch interface is not enough.

@archer Glad it worked! Anytime I have issues with displays I try to SSH/SFTP in to see if the Pi is actually up and running or if it's just not booting.

I have them in my Amazon cart , just waiting to pull the trigger 😁. I will let you know how they compare.

@eldgrim As far as the missing hashes, you could try a different database, as some may have hashes that others do not. You could also try the built in scraper in ES which let's you use a keyboard to alter the ROM name as you scraper so you can look it up and fix it real time. You won't get videos in the ES scraper but you might at least get metadata and a picture. If it's a handful of games you can also add the data/picture manually by editing the gamelist.xml file and adding an entry.

For the PSX games I'd double check that you don't have two cue files in the folder.

It could be your joystick is oriented wrong plug the usb in windows and do a joystick test on there to confirm

set your controller again with emulation station

@markt correct. As I said, and from reading your jstest tests, your joysticks are effectively being recognized as analogs correctly, it's just that they don't really map to the trackball the way you think they could.

You may try another emulator (lr-fba vs lr-mame vs AdvMame) and see if they handle it differently, or maybe someone has a different idea on how to configure it to make it work the way you want.

@azsorlex26 Each package exposes a standard set of commands to be executed - sources, build, install, remove, configure. Most packages have these options, there might be packages with special functions.
Look at https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/blob/master/scriptmodules/packages.sh#L55 and https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/blob/bfaedb92cb86335b7fec34d23fb39890455ae05f/scriptmodules/packages.sh#L162 to see how the retropie_packages.sh script works.

Compiled the latest daily source, but TLJ would not be recognized bei residualvm.

Added in "/home/pi/RetroPie-Setup/scriptmodules/emulators/residualvm.sh" the build parameter "--enable-all-engines" , but that does not work.
