I would like to know how to create this. I'm pretty savy but just got interested in overlays because I thought it would be too much trouble for my rotated cocktail arcade.

I don't use bezels, but I just wanted to say that it's worth it to emulate the Williams clone of 1942 (lr-fba works well). Unlike the Capcom/Romstar version, the Williams version correctly refers to the 2nd button evasion maneuver as a Loop, not Roll, and consequently has Ls in the lower right corner instead of Rs. Also, the stage names are better (clearer).

I have the exact same issue. Was there ever a fix? I'm trying to remove the overlay side bars for every system, especially classic Arcade games like Mrs. PacMan for my 1Up Arcade cab. screen. Thanks in advance.

@udb23 Argh, thanks for reminding me. I wanted to copy the samples to the 4.4 sd card, but had to expand its partition first, and then I forgot to copy the samples … :P

The usual location for overlays is "/opt/retropie/configs/all/ retroarch/overlay". Maybe there is something there that is overriding your settings.

New features

The biggest new feature is the ability to check a romset against a DAT file, and to transform a romset into a non-merged one. Several common DAT files are provided: MAME for the latest Batocera and Recalbox versions, MAME2003 in different flavors, and FBNeo. Merged and split sets are not supported, as they make no sense in the context of this tool.

@MrLightgun thanks I just actually updated to the latest version of RetroPie release. I have been holding off because my setup was working great for the most part.

I’m almost done moving my cfgs over and making sure everything is working properly. I believe I will give this process a try and see how it goes.

@dishins I ran these test on a stock installation of RetroPie. My Retroarch config is “hard coded” for my Xbox 360 wireless 4 player setup. It doesn’t play well with other setups unfortunately.

@robmcc83 Only if it's supported by the emulator - but it doesn't seem so.
There is a libretro core for Vice (C64 emulator - port of VICE for libretro) in the experimental packages section, you could try and install it.
