    it was working ok,
but yesterday i start soldering the cables from my pc controller pcb to my buttons ( to add the light to my button) while the Raspberry was on. Then after i finished i lost the screen.

Tried turning the RB on without controller but that din't make the difference.
I think its just broken, better get a ODROID-XU4 instead of a Raspberry now :-( .

And now it works fine. The connector is a little different and I had not connected the ribbon cable properly.

@riverstorm said in Variable Governor not set in the wiki for Odroid XU4 - Performance Issue:

The initial reviews seem mostly positive for Ready Player One.

I really liked it. The film deviates from the book in sooo many ways for the sake of brevity, but it still feels like 'Ready Player One' at every turn. Something I was pleased to discovery that I didn't consider was the musical score done by Alan Silvestri. While the movie is a visual treat of pop culture references, the score manages to weave in music cues from many other properties as well and it's done in a very thoughtful way. It's not so much that you'll see a Star Wars character reference and immediately get a Star Wars music cue, but rather when moments occur that might organically evoke a strong feeling of fantasy, you may get a subtle little bit of the theme from Stephen Spielberg's Amazing Stories. All very well done.

@mynameiskeegan said in How do I change my port?:

    "Host RetroPie doesn't exist."

That's not related to the port settings and indicates a DNS issue. Try to either use retropie.local as hostname or the actual IP address of the Pi system in the connection dialog.

@cosmicarcade that's probably related to the theme you're using, and you should look into the theme for details on what video it's using as the default one. Still, what @mitu said.

Here are some tips for reducing input lag. You'll never get an emulation setup to completely match actual hardware, but you can improve things greatly. I just beat 'Super Mario Brothers 3' a few weeks ago and almost got a TKO on Tyson earlier today.

I knew I was doing something obviously wrong, I just didn't know what. Upon going to go copy down the names of the files, found out it was a divided archive inside the original zip, so while I unzipped the files, I did not compile them from the archive. I feel really dumb, and apologize for wasting your time. Thank you for trying to help a sad nub.

Thanks Buzz, that worked perfect. Playing PoP on the keyboard works great but not so well with a controller. They have a fully working menu to save, load, settings, exit, etc. now. You can jump, duck, etc. no problem but for some reason the analog and d-pad does some weird things when trying to move. I'll post over there and see if they can address it.

On a side note I was looking at the Dreamcade that is taking pre-orders now. I am on the fence because really if they sold their interface you could install it on an Intel NUC (looks almost exactly the same) and have the same product. They do have about 16 years building full arcade cabs so their interface is streamlined and polished. They originally were going to make it look like a retro style Atari-ish case but the final product is just a micro PC. Anyway I was just trying to view some video of the actual interface and product working and it's crazy the number of videos talking of being "RetroPie killer?" "Better than a RetroPie?", "The next RetroPie?", on and on. All I can think is they [RetroPie] is doing it right! :)

@cajacks1 Are you sure you configured the Select key as a Hotkey and you didn't choose something else during the input configuration setup ? The exit shortcut is Hotkey + Start, so if you chose a different key as Hotkey, Select + Start might not work.

I apologize of course, but please note that I only used it for the Installation tools, not pirated content.

It read that way. Plus, it can be difficult to keep up with all the various copyright violators out there. Glad to hear the visuals are working for you.

so guys i had problems with the GPIOnext and the waveshare driver that i had. They both used pins at the same time.
Thanks mholgatem the programmer of the program he gave me some commands to type in,to configure the buttons with the right pins that are usable. So guys i wired this thing just with the single purpose of using pins who are not used and dont damage the raspberry or the display . So the commands are with my ports .

    MY SETTINGS
    [
    sudo python3 /home/pi/GPIOnext/config_manager.py --pins 3,5,22,10,7,29,31,32,33,35,36,37,38,40

    gpionext set pins 3,5,22,10,7,29,31,32,33,35,36,37,38,40

    gpionext reload

    sudo reboot
//if you soldered your wires to different ports you can add them in the line down below !
    [
    sudo python3 /home/pi/GPIOnext/config_manager.py --pins 29,31,32,33,35,36,37,38,40

    gpionext set pins 29,31,32,33,35,36,37,38,40

    gpionext reload

    sudo reboot
    ]

@thatisandwas it's actually a really cool idea. My car has a composite input for the screen in the center of the dash. Might have to borrow your idea :)
