I need to point something out here as I had problems using them over bluetooth.
Not sure if anybody else has the same problem but it been there since I started using retropie a couple of years ago and is still there now.
It does not effect all games but I have noticed it in a few, hogs of war is one that comes to mind.
I use to use 2 normal ps2 controllers via usb adapter and 2 ps3 controllers via Bluetooth for some 4 player fun. The 2 ps3 controllers over bluetooth always use to cause stuttering whilst holding the button to fire your rockets in hogs of war, the 2 wired controllers never did this.
The way that solved this for me was to disable the built in wifi on my pi3, then they worked perfectly.
I now use 4 ps3 controllers via Bluetooth with no problems what so ever now since disabling built on WiFi.

So yeah, that was it. Add the udev rule and trigger udev. Hey, the controller wiki really needs to be updated with the ps4 controller.

ok so further testing. If i use adafruit retrogame, i see Joy2key appear in Top at about 20% cpu, then after a few seconds it disappears.

Using my own code, Joy2key does the same 20% ish cpu for a few seconds, then it will sit at about 4% cup for as long as im playing a game. it actually remains even when i close the emulator (start + select)

I have a big collection of bezels that of got over the years but they are all curved.
Where would I get some basic non curved ones.

We'll the power saving features seem to be doing the job. I've been monitoring for the last 24 hours checking temps cpu usage etc and putting power saving onto default, emulation station appears to be not using a lot of cpu anymore when I check with the top command so with that in mind I'll just keep in running all the time.

@Rameshsalvi Please don't open multiple topics for the same question. I've merged the topics into a single one.

As it turns out, the board with the safe shutdown circuitry was missing a resistor near the fan header, so the path that needed to be made to induce the script was not being completed. Retroflag was kind enough to send a replacement board, and now it works perfectly. No script modifications required. See the included picture for details.alt text

@park757 try the official PSU as recommended. One without an in-line switch.

@teller B-Em uses the library Allegro 4.x and other libraries so I think it would need Raspbian installed.

As far as I know yes but they are community fixes. Nothing got implemented officially by now to fix this.

Very nice! Glad to hear everything's working now. Something to keep in mind for future endeavors is that no one actually types command lines like the ones listed above, as there would be too much margin for error. For situations like that, a quick copy and paste into a remote ssh session will save finger cramping and your sanity.
