@Lolonois Those are all excellent suggestions. Lots to try. Thank you. I like the idea of sshfs. I don’t use NFS for anything else so that’s one less service to run server side. That’s interesting about eduke. I just assumed install from source would be the latest. Guess not. Do you know does prboom also not install the latest from source?

Alas shortly before your response I said enough and tossed Recalbox on my Pi. It’s playing Doom just fine from NFS which RetroPie was not. Another thing that points to it being a RetroPie problem. Next time I’m bored, which is pretty much always, I’ll toss RetroPie back on the Pi and try your suggestions. I had updated my RetroPie via retropie_setup. Did you do that? I always wondered if I reflashed and didn’t update if the ports would work fine. I’ll be sure to test that first thing before updating when i do flash.

@pscotto1234 You can either look in $HOME/RetroPie-Setup/logs and unpack the latest log file or just post the error you're seeing on screen.

I tried to launch Retropie Setup script and I am not able to launch it anymore. This is the log I had:

    Any further advice is appreciated!

Again - please provide the info asked in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first, including the emulator and ROM/system where you have trouble.

You can also provide a log file after you've activated verbose logging; copy the contents of the log file (/dev/shm/runcommand.log) and post it on pastebin.com, providing here the link.

    Try to reset the controllers.

While you are in emulationstation press the F4 to jump to the terminal window, and type :

    sudo ~/RetroPie-Setup/retropie_setup.sh

    Then choose :

Manage packages => Manage core packages => emulaionstation => Configurations / Options => clear/Reset emulationstation input configuration

After that, restart the system and it will ask you to configure again your controllers.

@sleve_mcdichael having had a cursory look I can confirm and I lean towards "won't fix".

Rationale: As long as there are SDL events they get pumped into the Window.cpp/GuiComponent::input() call chain an consumed from there. Every downwards component "sees" one event at a time. Processing of the event is stopped either at the last GuiComponent in the chain or if a input() call returns true.

This also happens with Use LR/LB for full page navigation set to false. It just does not occur as easily as the cursor most of the time is always placed middle.

One option to remediate may be to measure the time between the events and if they are too close (i.e. less time than between update()/render() calls) drop the second, and ofc only if the events are LR/LB.

@Clarky_gtt said in Can't find IP address on preloaded xu4:

I have a preloaded xu4 that I installed in my modded arcade 1up cabinet. There are a couple of games that don't work in mame that I want to find working roms for ...

We don't support 3rd party images, start with a clean Ubuntu image and install RetroPie over it, as explained in the docs.

How can I easily add roms or find my ip so I can easily add via my laptop and network... Or that's how I understand it?

That's covered in the docs also. Unless your laptop is running Linux, a sdcard with RetroPie cannot be read from your laptop, so you should use the network to transfer ROMs (SSH or File shares, as explained in the page mentioned previously).

Is it possible to add them to my theme?

Right now only 'scroll' sound is available - see here in addition to the Creating Your Own EmulationStation Theme page from our docs.

@AwesomeKingClem don't remove your posts, makes the replies you got seem out of place and breaks the topics. That's not how a forum works.
