@umxp02 Hello thread from long ago :)

I ended up moving to Batocera with my Pi 4 and had no issues with screens at all. I eventually got a Pi 5 for Batocera.

My Pi 4... I repurposed it to run Plex, and don't need a screen since I can control it from my Mac.

Yeah this issue was a brain buster, so I'm happy I moved on.

@mitu Well, if something worked incl. mouse orientation in the past (hdmi_rotate=..., config.txt) and then stops (rotate=..., cmdline.txt) working it is IMHO a regression as the foundation is still issuing the Rpi Kernel and firmware.

Anyhow, using xrandr or wlrandr is not an option as I don't want to configure X/Wayland for SDL based emulators I have in use.

It seems I have to table it at the Raspberry Pi forum.

Configuration editor will not help here. You can use jstest to check that each encoder outputs an identical input code for the same button.
Running jstest /dev/input/jsX will show you the inputs on the encoder and you can press all the inputs to see how they're recorded. Replace X with 0 to 3 and you should be able to test each of the 4 encoders. Interrupt the test by pressing Ctrl + C.

    This one.

This is not a stock RetroPie image/installation - I advise you to ask the author of the image/scripts for help, since we don't know how those extra scripts work.

@fatfrog said in Issues with Quick Menu in fbalpha2012:

    I have a lcd 4:3 monitor

Those monitors are very old and usually only accept analog video inputs, meaning your rpi3 is not connected to your screen by some standard hdmi here ? It'd be nice to not have to guess everything about your setup...

Again, this screenshot you posted looks typical of frequency/vsync issues, most likely due to the unusual screen setup and those 3 games not being 60hz games. It's not really surprising mame2003 doesn't have this kind of problem since back in 2003 most games were emulated inaccurately at the wrong speed of 60hz.

One thing you could try is to use the "Force 60Hz" core option in FBNeo, that core option will force every game to run at 60hz, but you'd need to be able to use retroarch's menu to do that. Maybe you could try launching a game that is still running at 60hz in FBNeo, like dkong, and change the core option from there.

@mr-simonski were you able to find a solution to your issue? I have the same issue where the startup audio is perfect but the game selection and in game are distorted to the point of being incomprehensible.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

@Bar4-13 This is an evergreen issue for new folks. The answer is simple - make sure your rom set matches the emulator you are using. Use THIS CHART to help make sure you do it right.

@jorgito13 the problem with the old compatibility table is RetroPie has changed its underlying OS over the years and all the emulators have been updated since it's creation, so it would be safe to say that some of those entries may not be all that accurate anymore. The new table while not as enriched, is auto-generated based on the lastest XML DAT file used by the core. The entries on that list mirror the warning flags assigned internally by the drivers, so it should be some what accurate with the state of those games.

If there is a particular piece of information you want to be added to the new list, or sorting method. I maybe able to update DAT Magic (what builds those lists) to auto-generate some of those features.

@Folly No worries, thanks for trying. I tried a few of the other TRS80 models but they don't seem to be any better :(
