@Sturgy86 we need more info to help you. But first you should read this wiki page and see if you can solve it yourself:

      Cheers!

How do you like it when comparing the output of PI-CRT shader?

I have no comparison, because I haven't used the CRT-Pi shader so far.

@sinfolmatt I've just watched a video and found out that the USB speakers that come with an audio jack, the audio jack just plugs straight into the raspberry pi 3 as it has an audio jack point so nice and easy. It's looking like the way to go is foe mo get a Raspberry pi 3 on order and crack on with it.

@thomen I used the controller listed on the top of this thread. It was easy to setup and no drivers to install. I used 2 of them to map 2 joystick and 16 buttons

@battlecat The detail on the front and sides are cut vinyl, I just designed them on my computer and cut them on our vinyl cutter at work, it's usually used for signage so the small off-cuts left over are idea for this sort of thing.

@Capeman so after several years of working at it, I'm so much closer to getting the cabinet and artwork finalised. Here are the progress photos

      20221026_212717.jpg

      20221026_215227.jpg

Once I put all the components in the cabinet an I finalise the vinyl artwork print I'll provide another update. I did redo the artwork based on your pixel - nearest neighbour resizing which worked perfectly.

Thank again for all your advice/support with this. It has helped a lot!

      @backstander
      Hi!
Yes it's coin-op (20cts €). I like the idea of "paying" your credit, and not just push a button until 9 or more credit...
I use Mdf wood, or medium wood if you prefere. And a really thin sheet of plastic on the control panel as for the marquée.

For the inside it's still à mess right now, so after à Little clean-up yes i will link a picture.

@AndersHP said in Logitech Z623 in a bartop - too much?:

I have a HDMI-> VGA and Jack adapter

That should be good. You're using the adapter to convert from digital to analog instead of the Pi itself. If you're not hearing noise now, then you shouldn't have too much to worry about inside the cabinet.

As far as the speaker size, I see what you mean. I did some looking around online and many bartop arcade cabinets use a 3" speaker, which generally sounds pretty terrible. Going with a 2.1 solution may work well, but that Z623 sub is BIG.

      Height: 11.2 in (284 mm)
      Width: 12.0 in (305 mm)
      Depth: 10.5 in (266 mm)
      Weight: 15.4 lbs (7000 g)

@obsidianspider i think most prints shops is totally cool with it. I would even think its legal for personal use. Depends on country i guess.

Overclocking will give you more stability on games that may currently be "borderline" for you.

      https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/Overclocking
EDIT: Sorry about previous post. That was better advice for a Pi 1. Use the settings for pi2. They're good and safe.

This sounds like a funny educational project. I will definitely follow your process, and I might get some awesome ideas on how to proceed with my own bartop arcade :)
