@mitu so i just mapped it in ES ( after re-enabling auto save) and then i had to quit ES and i did a system shutdown, performed a reboot and it is WORKING! so far, yes!! i think before, i wasn't exiting ES correctly and it kept remapping the r1 to only the start button as the "y" button. and it was showing up as a keyboard input. I REALLY appreciate your help. thank you!

@phane said in Sixaxis dies after a few minutes, takes BT with it, requires reboot to reconnect:

What rate should I change (there are three in the file based on some if statements I don't understand) and what would be a good setting to reduce it to?

Change the 921600 value and halve it to 460800 (then 230400, 115200 etc.).

@hairdyeguy said in Speeding up boot time and the necessary commands:

Tried it along side to disabeling bluetooth and rainbow splash screen + inserting the quiet flag to kernel. Booting time is now 28 seconds!
Are there more things you'd recommend?

The EmulationStation settings I mentioned in my first post - they should speed up dramatically the front-end startup.

Other services that are not strictly needed - raspi-config(?), hciuart (which you don't need if you disabled Bluetooth), rpi-eeprom-update (the Pi zero doesn't have an EEPROM).
You can also disable the swap service (dphys-swapfile) and test, but the Pi 0 has limited memory and swap may be useful if you want to install from source or run other things.

I'm not sure why the dev-mmcblk0p2.device takes so long, maybe the sdcard is not so fast (?).

There may be other - more radical - options

Its always the last thing. Must have had some kind of hardware issue. reflashing my ssd has solved any issues. no idea what the original cause was. Some random little glitch is my guess. I was trying to avoid reflashing because of how far along I was in config, but backed it up and restoring it now that the controllers are all working. Thanks for attempting to help me h2805270, i appreciate it.

@crush I was too. AFAIK if you have ps3controller installed and you install sixaxis, then ps3controllergets automatically uninstalled. But seems like installing ps3controller works perfectly after having installed sixaxis.

Update: I tried these instructions: https://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/questions/53408/automatically-connect-trusted-bluetooth-speaker/76288#76288

Installed BaReinhard's repo and rebooted. I was able to connect to the AirPods when it launched back up and for a brief moment sound actually came through from youtube on the AirPods and I thought I may have fixed it, but then it cut out again after about two seconds. I'm getting the feeling that it connects and then gets disconnected almost immediately for some reason. Indeed, looking at bluetoothctl it seems to connect then disconnect to the devices immediately.

      E.g. it will say:

      sudo bluetoothctl
      Agent registered
      [CHG] Device D0:03:4B:ED:E5:20 Connected: yes
      [CHG] Device D0:03:4B:ED:E5:20 Connected: no
      [CHG] Device D0:03:4B:ED:E5:20 Connected: yes
      [CHG] Device D0:03:4B:ED:E5:20 Connected: no

in quick succession, continuing on with this "yes/no" pattern. It does not seem able to maintain a connection.

Don't know if that sheds any light on the problem.

@mitu Thank you for your quick response !

I forgot to mention before, when first posting i had installed xboxdrv, xpadneo and xpad.

I have uninstalled xboxdrv, restarted, and tried to connect with xpadneo and xpad installed. Only 2 of them worked (same result as before)

After this i had uninstalled xpadneo and xpad -> then installed xpadneo only -> restarted -> try connection -> still same result.

@theotherdan said in SN30 Pro - Lag Problem with the SN30 pro:

The issue with the case was no shielding on the USB3 chip (As per the RetroFlag support). If the SSD adapter was plugged into the USB3 port, there was a range of about 3 feet. When I used the USB2 port, it worked as expected.

I feel it is worth adding to this.
I recently bought a plugable bluetooth adapter to add to an older PC that didn't have built in bluetooth. The packaging specifically said to plug the adapter into a USB 2.0 port instead of a USB 3.0 port to increase range.

I was puzzled by this but sure enough it is true. Here is a page that helps explain a little:
      https://www.bluetoothandusb3.com/the-explanation

So best advice is to always use USB 2.0 ports for bluetooth, and possibly wireless devices in general when possible provided the device won't exceed the speed of a USB 2.0 port.

@cayce I don't know about your clone but I have an official Wii U controller and it is definitely Bluetooth. It is an odd version of Bluetooth though like the Wiimote. I have no experience of making it work on my Pi4 but on a Windows PC they require some fiddling/extra drivers. I've been using a Wii U Pro controller for CEMU on my PC.

I understand that they can be used as a wiimote (wiimote and nunchuck?) and I would like to look into using it as such when 64bit Retropie/Dolphin comes around. That will be some time off though.

Several other users are reporting the same issue on the github for xpadneo:
      https://github.com/atar-axis/xpadneo/issues/259

I paired the controller in windows and copied the link key to my raspberry pi as one of the users on github mentioned. Now the pairing works and I can use the controller. Now the Xbox-Button doesn't work as hotkey for both controllers anymore. But this might be an issue because of updating the whole system.

For getting the keys I followed these instructions:
      https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1678405#p1678405

      Problem solved! :)
