I made the box and label on paint.net before printing them and and gluing them on cardboard paper, then I folded it like a snes box.

The cartridge was a soccer game that I sacrificed for the process(nobody will miss it tho). I removed the previous label to glue the new one on it.

@badhorse nice case, for some reason it reminds me of a wireless router.

An update: I had time to play with the code this morning. It compiled and linked and I'm currently scraping my roms. It is slow but probably no slower than if you use a single thread and don't pass -thumb_only with my scraper standalone. Since it is downloading the full image then resizing and bandwidth is my bottle neck right now.

The code needs a ton of clean up and review from people who know how to write C but looks promising.

Great thanks for good feedback, and I really liked the video there @Shakz.

I actually got out and bought a better power supply and got rid of the yellow lightning bolt after I read your answers, however I couldn't find one that hosted a USB port rather than a fixed cable with a Micro USB-interface. I have now done a quick-and-dirty attachment of it to the PiNES but I'll try to find a better solution to be able to connect the power via a USB B cable since that will be better for transportation and general look overall.

However thanks again, I feel the subject is closed and I'll just have to find the proper gadget to handle it. :)

      All the best,

      /Hravnkel

Thanks so much. Updating the firmware got me sorted. It's showing the proper amount of memory now... It's just not booting into emulationstation. Just drops to console... working on that now.

EDIT: It was the memory split. Reverted and now everything boots up again. Back to the beginning; installing emulationstation-kids.

I have a fairly basic problem and it's the USB cable. Before I found this thread I watched a Youtube vid which advised to trim the tail. I did so but just could not get it trimmed enough to fit. I kept cutting but got scared when the black rubber started revealing clear plastic stuff. Anyway, I squeezed the whole lot in there, re-assembled and it worked somehow!!

@jb32647 said in My "retroGamePi" console:

@ballanux An interesting thing for the accelerometer would be to simulate the paddles for an Atari or C64.

Maybe for driving games it could work simulating an steering wheel, but when I put it there I was thinking more for custom games development, not thinking in any particular system.

@ProxyCell It's a useful feature to be sure. Since RetroPie is built on Raspbian and can also be installed on Ubuntu, there are all sorts of underlying functions of linux, we could really have a wiki on retropie, retroarch, and linux... any suggestions on the best way to lay it all out?

@nater This looks pretty cool. If you get one, let us know how it works. I am kinda worried about the battery being so close to the CPU.

They say you can buy it with a case, but they don't show what it is. It could be fun to design a 3D printable case to fit it all nicely.

      See OP for updated pics.
