Please don't ask for or give advice about where to obtain ROMs. It's the one thing you need to figure out for yourself, people are more than happy to help with anything else. Good luck.

I take it that you posted a ROM download rather than a patch file. Whenever you get a patch going, I hope you'll repost. I'm a pretty big Giana fan and this hack looks like quite a challenge.

Take a look around here In last posting @meleu and me did resolve some problems with shutdown and escape emulators by GPIO signal.

@mediamogul it looked like it came out right out of the factory. They were all kept in sealed containers and the collector who owned them died in iraq and his mom sold them to me.

@kaixman Bubble Hero 2 appears to be a Windows clone of the arcade game, Bubble Bobble. You won't have any luck running Windows games on the Pi, at least not without a significant amount of work.

I would suggest playing the original arcade game or the NES port. Here is a video of NES gameplay to check whether it's what you're looking for:

The simplest option would be to drop the Bubble Bobble NES rom into the NES roms folder, restart EmulationStation and you're ready to play.

Getting the arcade version requires more work regarding getting the correct romset for the emulator. The most straightforward solution is to find the 0.78 non-merged MAME romset and use the lr-mame2003 emulator. Place the rom bublbobl.zip in the arcade or mame-libretro rom folder. Restart EmulationStation and you're ready to play.

If you're happy with Bubble Bobble, it's worth checking out Bubble Bobble II (a.k.a Bubble Symphony) playable on arcade emulator, AdvanceMAME 0.94, and Rainbow Islands: The Story of Bubble Bobble 2, playable on arcade (lr-mame2003) or NES .

This game is full on 3D based on PowerPC + dedicated GPU architecture. I can tell upfront that the ARM-based MAME for Retropie won't run the game, unfortunately.

I found "SoftVMS" and tried to run it in the emulator but it didn't work. Here is a link to the source code if it helps:

@tendo_nerd12 What Alex means is you can upload the ROMS via your network to your Pi. And he's right it's much easier to upload them via your network.

If you're on Windows in Windows Explorer add \\retropie\ in the directory bar and hit enter. Click on the roms folder and copy n paste the roms in the right console folder.

If you have problems for mapping your controller, you have a script called "reicast-joyconfig" for mapping any standard controller.
I use a bluetooth cheap controller and I run this script and works great with reicast.
