The .cfg is written when emulator starts based on the device detection order. Plug in first the Logitech controller and then the other 2 SNES clones and see if it that puts the Logitech controller as Player 1.

@PARALAX yeah, we can't really support you if you're using your own configuration - eg the "correct" BIOS folder for retropie is so because retropie's config heirarchy sets it - if you make your own config it will be whatever you set/retroarch defaults to.

Well, you guys are awesome. Once I figured out where to change input settings in Retroarch..and then how to save my configuration...I got it working. The mappings for the left analog stick were blank, somehow. Note: I edited the main RetroArch config, and not Core configs. Both were blank, but I wanted it to correct every N64 rom.

I assume that means the Dpad was working, and it just wasn't being needed by Mario64, which I was testing on.

@ShinxtheMorpeko I fixed the problem with not getting into RetroArch. I configured keyboard 2 but it still moved player 1 in Super Bomberman 2.

I remember a similar post - after the 4.4 image was released - mentioning that DInput behaves differently and switching to XInput made it work.

"Built from: [Deleted this reference myself] (Pre made SD website)" This site only supports the RetroPie images hosted here. I use the K400+ and mine has no problem working as a controller from ES.

Download and burn the SD image hosted on this site, and not only is it likely to work, but we will actually be able to support it!

      https://retropie.org.uk/download/

EDIT: I just noticed that is a pre-made image site complete with copyrighted games included in the image, so removed my reference to it from your quote. Links or mention of images or sites distributing copyrighted games and/or BIOS images are also not allowed here....

      That's great to hear.
May i ask if a "wired" mode is possible with that controller or did you just plug it it for charging?

@VictimRLSH i read already about the xpad drivers so i guess i could manage that myself

@pme said in Logitech Attack 3 Joystick Configuration:

I've read that if you PRESSS AND HOLD any button on the device, it will skip the current configuration option and move to the next (https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/2108/can-t-skip-joystick-configuration/5) but this does not seem to be working.

The D-Pad is necessary to be configured to navigate in Emulationstation, you can't skip it entirely. Configure the joystick as D-pad, or use any other of the 11 buttons, and then you'll be able to configure your gamepad in detail in RetroArch or any other emulator you might use.

If this helps you, then I looked at the review on this site. There are other adapters there, but I'm not sure about them.

@dwarfboysim Start with Emulationstation input mapping and see if it fixes the RA problem. Have you done additional configuration for your gamepad besides the mapping in Emulationstation ?

@chipsnblip I've also tried with my iPad charger (5.1 volts at 2100 mA) and the same issue occurs with exactly the same repro steps.

This morning I tried a different distro (batocera-linux -- derived from Recalbox). Everything works without any issues on my PiZero W (NES, SEGA GENESIS, SNES). The only difference in my setup with batocra-linux is that my controller needs to be on the "D" switch instead of the "X" (my controller was not working in "D" mode with RetroPie). Maybe that's another clue to investigate. For the time being, I'll stick with batocera-linux since It Just Works™.

I will still be monitoring this thread as I am curious if anybody else is able to reproduce. I can't be the only one having this issue.
