      @mitu said in Joysticks not detected after upde:

      it's your device - did you purchase it with RetroPie ?

      Not really, it's not my device. My sister gave it to me because they were not using it and after updating it the joysticks stopped working.
      I will try to reinstall mk_arcade_joystick_rpi and if not, I will have to reinstall it from 0.

      Thanks!

      @zeldagamer081
      I had the same issue with the same controller.
      Now they are working and the only thing I know I did was updating retropie and all packages and all of a sudden it was working.
      When using steam link it will not work however but thats not the main focus.

      @jenny18 a spinner automatically detects as a mouse. You shouldnt have to do anything to get it working. In a mame game you might have to enable spinner/trackball/mouse in the game. A spinner never will detect as a controller.

      How do I remove the udev rule? I don't know if I have it or not. I presume I do because earlier I was attempting to change it.

      You just delete the line you added from the file you edited.

      Nevermind. I figured it out already. I had to SSH into it and write some commands to install the PS4 and 360 controllers manually. Works great now

      So, oddly, I figured out how to make it work. Not sure why though.
      So for starters, it started working again yesterday (when I made the post), but I didn't know how. Regardless, today it stopped working again.

      However, it was fixed quite simply. I plugged it into my PC, and then plugged it back into my Pi. Now it works fine again. I have no idea why, though.

      So i've finally got further with this issue. I've removed retropie from my SD card and reinstalled it. Added the correct driver and set every GPIO pin in de conf file to 2 so my config now looks like this: gamecon_gpio_rpi map=0,0,2,2,2,2
      Interesting enough now all of my controllers seem to work without the 5v mod or extra wires whatsoever. I've attached the NES pad to the PAD 4 pin. The only thing not working right now is in-game. The NES controller works in the menus of retropie and emulation station but not in an actual NES game. Going to figure that out next!

      @Arakenzo Yes, I believe player one will work fine "out of the box" that is correct. It's really just player 2 that needs to be mapped. Drop a reply here to update on how your progress goes and if you find a better tutorial than the one I provided. A lot of people are interested in this same setup. Good luck!
