@Shmeter.man are you using a thumb drive to put the bios on? There are issues with the sega cd bios' and that method. Use something like winscp to put the bios files on.

I have been sending roms over my network using the network share (SMB) that is built into RPi. If you are on windows, go to windows explorer and click on Network. In there you should see all your networked machines that are sharing. RETROPIE should be one of them. once you are there, navigate to the roms folder and you can drag and drop to your hearts content. :)

@TMNTturtlguy Effectively i have thought about it and it is a good idea, but i have already one usb port used by my keyboard, another one by my hard disk, and i would like to keep 2 usb ports free. It would let me to eventually connect other devices such as bluetooth guns (to play "time crisis" for instance) or to add 2 more arcade joystick for 4 players game and so on. I could use a usb HUB to do all theses things but i dont want to add too many intermediate electronic composants to the chanel. Either way if it had been the only solution, i will have chosen this method :)

And if someone who reads this topics has the same issues that i have encountered, i'm hoping he will follow your advice. That's the easiest way too do. I think. ^^

Thank you for everything my friend. Cheers from France

i figured this was enough info for ageneric question of how 3 sd cards could get corrupted at the same time while in different locations, even while not being used. i fixed the issue but am looking for a root cause. i took the pi and all equipment with me to replicate the issue and they all worked with another os, in fact, with 2 different ones, so everything hardware is good. the image was as i stated, 4.2 image for the pi from the retropie site. are there any known issues with this image that would cause corruption while not being used?

Okay! Thanks very much, I indeed noticed it only could be installed from binaries! So I'll try that!
If I install it through that will I be able to use it through the EmulationStation?
Is there any documentation? I've something about configuration file editting..

@gusgorman said in Updated Text-Hiding Code:

there's still a second or two of code-running text that appears on screen before the launching image loads, and then again when exiting the game back to Attract Mode (or ES).

When I use launching images it doesn't happen here. What version of RetroPie are you using? You can see it on the top left dialog of retropie_setup.

Hi, not sure if I am doing something stupid but I am using the Xin Mo Dual Arcade controls, have typed in the usbhid.quirks code and everything is recognised but naturally the player 1 and 2 controllers are switched so I am trying to use your code to switch them back. When i type your code in i get this...

@TMNTturtlguy In the cases the button didn't work, I also tried SSH. the Pi was hung and not responding to that either. I don't think I have seen a case where the button failed and ssh still worked.

@theRog05 If you're re-starting again, then get the 4.5.1 image from https://retropie.org.uk/download, which should have the necessary pre-requisites installed.
