@mitu Ah, I like that. I actually do have everything in the rom folders because I keep the files on an SSD, so I think that will be way easier than my idea. Actually I'll try both because I'm curious if they'll both work, and I'll tell my results here in case it helps anyone else in the future that gets themselves in a bind like I did.

I am having the same issue as you, all was working fine prior updating to 4.5. However if I enable OMX player it makes no difference, in face it is worst as no videos play.

This issue for me is only related to Mame preview videos. Everything else works fine.

I might try downloading the mame videos again, but does anyone have any idea what the issue could be?

I think that's not supported at the moment, but I think it's a planned feature (custom platform aliases). I see you found a workaround in the mean time :).

EDIT: After the artwork is downloaded i was able to generate gamelist.xml.

And it looks like I corrected the issue. I copied the gamelist.xml for Atari 2600 from Emulationstation to the folder that holds the roms. That seems to have done the trick. Thank you guys again for the guidance and help.

Think I’ve got it working, did a manual command and it’s doing it.

I just tested it again, with a few different systems, It does kind of squish the box, especially segacd, maybe a 640x640 square would be better. I'm sorry I'm not very good at this artwork.xml, I cant find a way around skyscrapers, compositing the boxart, even though all that it needs is for "cover" to be redirected to "screenshot". Did you try the built-in scraper?

From a cursory look two possible solutions:

Make sure your priorities.xml file for the folder/system ZX Spectrum does use screenscraper first, then gamesdb, then import for the title. For manual import you need a template (definitions.dat) with all ###xy### strings (including ###TITLE###) and a actual XML-snippet with the concrete values. The only differences between the template and the XML-snippet must be the the ###xy### strings and the concrete values. Keep withspaces, no reordering, nothing. And -but I guess you did- the file to be imported must be named like the romfilename but without extension.

@jurassicplayer Tested with that md5 sum and it is caused by the same flaw in the returned XML as I just fixed. My fix doesn't work on this but I've just improved it so it should work all-round from 3.0.4.
