This is an awesome looking theme! Are you planning a 4x3 version as well?

@dudleydes Thanks, I've already made the two new systems by making custom collections. but I need to remove the old ones. It looks like Emulation Station doesn't allow you to remove a system from the carousel. If I remove them in the es_systems.cfg, the roms they are attached to also disappear from the collection.

but collections are the new hotness.

Actually, you can use emulationstation for windows as a theme editor. I think that it would be very hard to adjust the objects dragging them with the mouse cursor and people will end up using text editor anyways.

That's a good idea. As you mentioned on another post, this could make it much easier to make themes compatible with the 4:3 format.

I tried commenting out both, like you suggested, but the dimming is still happening. I’m thinking this is just a default behavior in EmulationStation.

I spent some more time doing some tweaks to the theme, resized the PNG files, etc.

It's now done and included in the ES Themes manager for easy download/install.

I tried to keep the look and feel of CriticalCid's original BigBox port (which itself was a port of existing Hyperspin themes). A few things different though in order to work within the Emulation Station framework.

Pretty cool! I love the 3DS UI.
I think you should separate the objects that i've marked on another layer and use a zindex higher than the carousel, that will prevent it to fade and you can use another transition styles to create new effects, like i did on swineapple and stranger stuff.
