I'm not sure if it's possible to remove a help option, but you can set a blank (transparent) image for the last/first slot of the help buttons row and then shuffle the other buttons left (or right).
You can also remove the mapping for the button from the /home/pi/.emulationstation/es_input.cfg file - make sure you back it up first, just in case editing it goes awry.

@AlphaBetaPie Just to be sure: You are aware that nano is the actual text editor and sudo is only needed if you want to start it with root/administrative permissions? For any files that belong to the normal user (pi on Retropie), typing nano is enough to edit them, and you don't risk messing up their ownership.

I have an 8Bit Duo, and I did figure it out. Just assign the hot key and exit key to same home button. So that works with single press now. Then set up separate hot key/menu load for my keyboard, and can still access menus. So all good!

Yep. Found it. Not sure how I missed it before.

I tried to config the buttons through the main input config area while retropie was running and found that retropie recognizes the Ultimate OI board by Ultimarc as one game controller. Seems to me it has to be configured through the script manually. I'm trying it tonight to see if I'm successful. Did you ever get yours working @EspenT ?

@mrast Glad to hear that. Did you check ~/.emulationstation/gamelists/ on the old card for any gamelist.xml files that you could copy over to the new system? (You could then set "Parse Gamelists Only" again.)

Mind that .emulationstation is a hidden directory, as all files and directories are whose names start with a dot on Linux.

lr-mame2016 worked OK for me when playing games. I can't tell from your message whether it's working for you but throwing an error which you are investigating or not working at all due to the error. I did the standard Pi 4 build instructions. I couldn't get bbhcotw to run though so I'll be interested if you solve the error for this particular game.

It depends on your setup and how you want to do it.
-If you have a linux machine then you can just plug the sdcard into your computer and copy them over at USB 3.X speeds.
-If you keep your roms/settings on an external usb drive (this is how I do it), then you can just unplug the usb stick/hdd/ssd and plug them into another computer to copy/backup.
-If you are going over the network through something like WinSCP, then yes, that is painfully slow. Ethernet connections on both the pc and Pi make this a more tolerable experience.

This is meant to set you up to run roms externally, but it will also copy your entire Retropie folder to the usb drive. Then just unplug it after it is done and plug it into a computer to copy over. Just make sure to preformat the drive to be readable by whatever OS you plan on reading it.

Yes, after comparing the SNES bezels *.png names with all SNES roms and swapping the roms with the correct versions I also realized the bezels are about 95% for USA versions and rarely for Europe or Japan versions of games.
