I created individual entries in the systems, pointed them to the appropriate folders for C16+4, Vic 20, Pet.

When launching one of the files, press the config button, launch with the correct version of Vice.

@skiierfox86 That's not a reason to start new topics, you can just add to your existing topic and ask for specific directions from where you stopped. Did you follow the steps in the documentation ? What exactly doesn't work ?

@neonjuggalo Use the RetroArch menu and - after making the adjustments you need - choose to save the Core (or Game) remap file (https://retropie.org.uk/docs/RetroArch-Configuration/#core-input-remapping).

i think i see the problem and it might just be the refreshrates, when in emulationstation after boot,

but hitting a button before kodi loads,

Sorry for the larger second image, took it w/ my phone. so the problem might be its setting an invalid 30hz refreshrate that this display cannot handle.

ok, somethinsg dodgy... on loading Kodi, i'm whitescreen as per usual, But putty shows still

and it recovers after awhile, but the moment i press a button. pfft! Whitescreen.

ok lastnight which i forgot to post before passin out.. Reicast had teh same problem but it was setting an independent Render resolution, which was fixed by editing the emu.cfg this has me thinking either Kodi's setting a bad pixelclock/setting an independent resolution which the force options in config.txt dont do didly Squat.

Just to give this thread and all you guys some closure, I have not experienced any slowdown on PS1 games since installing Retropie 4.4 from scratch. Perhaps it's the new version, perhaps it was some tinkering I had done and that has now been erased. I did notice that PS1 games tend to slow down on my Pi2 when enabling enhanced resolution, either with or without the speed hack. I have not yet tampered with the overclock settings and I'm not sure if I should, since it's a Pi2... Otherwise I'll simply stick with the bilinear filtering option, which slightly improves graphics, and wait for the Pi4.

@microb41 According to the Raspberrypi website, there is a pixel clock limit, ie effectively a limit to the number of pixels that can be controlled, of 1920x1200@60 Hz, so as your resolution exceeds that, it shouldn't work

You can set higher resolutions, in config.txt, but they won't work.

Further down on the same page, it shows you how to create a custom screen resolution, so it would be worth you looking at that to get the aspect ratio you want.

Unfortunately, it's useless as there's no ability to save which is the reason I hadn't submitted my version of this months ago. I was waiting for libretro to fix it.

@oldschool84 I'm not sure I understand exactly what your issue is. Are you trying to configure an N64 controller?

@nanonacho you need to edit the keyboard controls section in /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg You need to remove the # in front of them as well dont edit any that have _btn in the name as those are for controllers.

@mikepd213 Re-install all your packages, do an update, then try again. You probably messed up the permissions (executable bit) on your files.

If you mean launching Kodi directly from the carousel, then no. Emulation Station is not designed to work that way.
