My understanding from watching various YT reviews of the Mega Drive Mini is that the Mega Pi is slightly smaller but more substantial feeling, so I imagine that would put the kibosh on the "Tower of Power" thing sadly. That said, I noticed that Retroflag recently brought out a nice addition to the SNES version which adds a (purely cosmetic) cartridge to it. I wonder if they're eyeing up the Tower of Power and considering it as a potential future product addition to their Mega Pi? Would be nice if so.

God I love my Mega Pi. I give it a wee cuddle every day you know. It's nothing weird.

      Honest.

so nice!! I cant wait to see it finished and hope you will share it then too! So far I have tweaked a neogeo theme from here from ruckage but I think i much prefer this style to go with the aes (i think the red with white stripes mvs is more suited for the arcade machine)

I will keep an eye out on this, love it so far!

      @Efriim
Harvest Moon Innocent Life works. A youtube kid showed me how changing the PSP CPU Clock to 80 will get the game to load normally and not freeze on the island intro.
      System > Change emulated PSP's CPU clock = 80

Harvest Moon Hero of Leaf Valley plays really well.
Graphics > Mode = Buffered rendering
Graphics > Simulate block transfer effects = False

I couldn't get Wagic the Homebrew to work, not quite. The thing was kind of buggy on real PSP. There are quite a few versions, I didn't over exert myself trying to get all the assets to load without crashing, but it does start.

I got Monster Hunter 3rd to play fairly well there are some minor slow downs like in the center of town. Like the other games, they can be played in non-buffered mode, and disable software skinning. Enable hardware transform and vertex cache. The first two games get better performance, overclock is recommended. 3rd has an english patch that is non-HD that and works for ppsspp.
Graphics > Software skinning = False

      Kingdom of Paradise/Heaven plays fine.

I think the case looks pretty neat, but the $80 is way too much for me to ever even think about purchasing one. I actually own one of those joysticks with the built-in fpga C64 in it that I bought for $3 at a thrift store, and while not quite as functional as the C64 mini without modification, it's served me well enough, and I plan on modding it when I get a change.

As promised the final production model is here (and available for pre-order) so I can now show the internals and how a Pi would fit...

More details in the link but here are some photos.

I've only just started but had a look around for recommended keyboards and the reviews of such. Finally I went for the Rii mini wireless keyboard, it's great, very responsive and comes with all the options you can think of. Plus it is cheap. I am now putting one on order for my work, as the wireless one I have now is full size, granted it has touchpad and number keys, but so does the Rii mini. The BIGGEST advantage with the Rii is it can fit in your pocket! Other advantages are you can actually hear when you press a key, so there should be no miss typed coding.

If you need help then I might be able to assist in some areas. I have a bit of an addiction to making tiny things

Adafruit did make a small arcade machine in a similar fashion

@gorgar said in wanted any mini pc recomendations.:

I love the pi and its form factor but I hate I always having to skip the majority of N64 and yes I am aware you can tweak and overclock but I don't want to :) but I have seen videos of people running retopie on their PC and the N64 stuff looks silky smooth so I wonder if anyone has any recommendations to get good performance on any of the new mini PCs and configurations that are out? Thinking of the NUC or anything similar perhaps an old alienware steam machine?

Gigabyte Brix is another. But hell, why not just get a Nvidia Shield TV? It has the oomph to run all of those, plus runs retroarch.

This might work as well: https://www.amazon.com/Beelink-Z83-V-Graphics-x5-Z8350-bluetooth/dp/B073DYLJG5/ref=sr_1_30?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1509200109&sr=1-30&keywords=mini+pc

Unfortunately, it's useless as there's no ability to save which is the reason I hadn't submitted my version of this months ago. I was waiting for libretro to fix it.

I've uploaded it to the git and added the link to the main post.
If anyone could try it out and give back feedback it would be very much appreciated.

Just tried it out. Looks nice. Just a couple of personal suggestions. The diversity of color you suggested in your previous post would be my choice for each system. Also, in basic view, would prefer game list box to stretch further out to the edges of the screen. Other than that, great job!
