@mitu well, seems it was really that easy, I didn't do the update obviously. Sorry.

But as a warning to anybody else: I am pretty sure something is going very wrong at the moment. Compiling has been running since my last post. From the file names I think the games that were in scummvm folder are beeing processed aswell... Which I don't believe should be the case :D won't abort this now, I will check the result.

You should change the Audio Device in EmulationStation's settings to one of the entries listed by aplay. If you the option doesn't show up in the menu, then edit es_settings directly and fill in the AudioDevice there.

    front:CARD=Audio, DEV=0
    USB Audio, USB Audio
    Front Speakers

    surround21:CARD=Audio, DEV=0
    USB Audio, USB Audio
2.1 Surround output to Front and Subwoofer speakers

    surround40:CARD=Audio, DEV=0
    USB Audio, USB Audio
4.0 Surround output to Front and Rear speakers

    Thank you for your help
One of the kids must of reset the es.system.cfg
All rom directories are pointing to /root/RetroPie and all my ROMS are /home/RetroPie. !

it is a shame I don’t know how to tweak KIOSK mode & kids mode so you can still get the benefits from using Full UI Mode

Heya, I noticed you replied recently to this so was hoping for a little info on a similar issue for me.

For me all the audio seems to work, but I am getting this error:

VolumeControl==init() - Failed to find mixer elements!

How can I resolve this from appearing when loading any games?

@sleve_mcdichael said in A question about EmulationStation scraper.:

I know Skyscraper have this option, but the issue i had with it is the size of 2D box, they are small and not big like ES scraper.

    Also configurable: https://github.com/muldjord/skyscraper/blob/master/docs/ARTWORK.md

Here is the artwork.xml file I use for a flat box-art and (separate) marquee image:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <artwork> <output type="screenshot" resource="cover"/> <output type="marquee" resource="wheel"/> </artwork>

I used your artwork.xml file and it works!
Without your help I would not have made it, it was to complex for me. Thank you very much!!

I finally got the Amiga emulation to work! This is how I did it.

Since I had Amiberry already installed, I removed it and its config file from /opt/retropie/configs/amiga (all .cfg files in that folder). I installed kick13.rom, kick20.rom, and kick31.rom with the correct CRC in bios/amiga. I used the wiki to get this information. I then installed Amiberry from source. I did it by launching Retropie Setup from Retropie. I selected Manage Packages->Optional Packages. I selected Amiberry and chose to install from source. Back in Retropie, I restarted Emulation Station.

I selected Deluxe Galaga (which, of course, was stored in roms/amiga) and it worked! I was having a problem with it not saving the high scores. However, I discovered that if I pressed ESC from within the game, it exited to DOS and then would save the high scores.

@penciltester said in about to downgrade my raspberrypiOS, one question:

When you say "manual install", are you referring to a different method than using the install script found in the github repository? If so, could you point me towards the instructions to do this properly?

No, you still use the script following the docs.

So, if anyone cares... Went back to an old image, upgraded everything and went from there. Seems to all be working. I don't know what got out of sorts.

I'm glad I figured out that the latest version of Retroarch saves controller configurations as overrides. That took a minute, but now trackball and spinner can both work as appropriate.

@mahoneyt944 ok, i figured it out.. When i was first trying to use legacy setting, I had simultaneous controls set, so it would set the legacy with both the retropad (A,B,X,Y,L,R, etc) as well as the keyboard mapping for the retropad. This had the effect of binding both to each assigned button, so when i changed the remap or button in RetroArch, the legacy assignment stayed with both the binding i set, AND what it was bound to in RetroArch when i set it.

Long story short, i turned off simultaneous while binding the legacy keys to retropad assignments, then after setting them, I could set it back to simultaneous so I could use my keyboard controls (for test mode, service, volume, etc) as well as my control mappings.

Thanks for the help, so glad i finally figured this out.
    thanks to you too, @mitu

I've managed to get it doing exactly what I want using the EDID filters

Glad to hear that, and thanks for the feedback :D

    @mitu

You should add arm_64bit=0 to config.txt and reboot
Try adding PTR64=0 to the build options

    That were the solutions.
I expect it will also work without using PTR64=0 now.
Compiling seems to be about 10 hours on a RPI4/8GB which is much better than 1 month on a PI0/1.

So now I have a working binary and channelf is working as expected ;-)
Will try some other systems later.

    Thanks !

I have read that ps1 mini is using the pcsx-rearmed emulator.
This emulator had the issue with this game you describe but it get fixed see: https://github.com/libretro/pcsx_rearmed/issues/560. Maybe the version that the system is using is older. I don't know if you can the update the emulator

You can try to change the Dynamic recompiler to interpreter (slower), if you have this option.

@CyrodiilWarrior You need to start the controller in pairing mode when you're trying to add it via Bluetooth to RetroPie, starting it via the PS button is not enough.

While pressing and holding the SHARE button, press and hold the PS button until the light bar flashes.

While the light bar flashes, do the Bluetooth scan & pair from RetroPie.

@levitatingGuru Hey, I am wondering how you went about installing the kms driver? I am trying to also resolve the screen tearing but can't figure it our for the life of me. I have adapted the config.txt but I have read I have to install the KMS kernel 5.4 or something like that? is that correct?
