    Hi @dookieshooter,

Apologies for late reply. I didn't have notifications on and have been busy with other things.

@dookieshooter said in Tronkyfran Dark plus:

is it possible to get videos to play in grid view?

As far as I know it is not possible to have videos in grid view, unless any dev update has been done on the RetroPie EmulationStation Repo to add this feature to EmulationStation as the original is not maintained anymore. If you've found a way I am interested as well to incorporate this in GridView

@dookieshooter said in Tronkyfran Dark plus:

is it possible to remove the detail window ( I assume that I can just remove that from the theme The dimming of the non selected games is a little aggressive. Possible to change that behavior?

Both are Possible for 1, in the "main" Theme.xml you'll have to remove all unwanted tags/elements within the <view name="system"> </view> tags.

For the grid non selected games dimming you can adjust backgroundEdgeColor

    <gridtile name="default"> <backgroundEdgeColor>000000BB</backgroundEdgeColor> </gridtile>

The 000000 is HEX code for black the BB is code for the alpha channel. You can change this to whatever you like to get another (even colored) dimming effect. See here for some more explanation on HEX with Alpha.

I had the same idea, I am trying to run RetroPie on my Raspberry Pi with Debian 11 (I can't install RetroPie on Bullseye) on a Docker container, and I am using my iPad as a screen through Remote Desktop, and a Bluetooth controller (8Bitdo Zero 2), and I can use Emulationstation (my gamepad works fine there) but when I launch any game my controller doesn't work (I don't have a wired controller so I don't know if that's the problem). I've tried to change the retroarch controller configuration and changing it to "sdl2" only works one button... I don't know why. If you don't have any issues maybe I could try your Dockerfile because it might be my setup?

Hey there, it's been a while.
Made some final changes to the Basic View and some console images added to the main menu. Link to Github still in the first post.

    @appas
Here are a few images to show the progress so far.

Never mind the source text glitching on top of the menu; that's an artifact of raspi2png which I'm using to take screenshots, and it doesn't actually look like that.

@Striderx99 As the original creator has not been here since 2018 and the theme has not been touched on GitHub since 2017, the likelihood is very low for any updates.
But can download the theme here and have at it. Make it your own.
There are plenty of resources out there to learn how to theme. And starting with a base theme makes it easier.

@mitu Oh man did I try for hours. That program is so confusing and I could never get it to recognize the art I already had in folders and with the proper tags. It is obviously a well thought out and detailed program, but it's UI is sloppy and it's really confusing to understand most the stuff in it.

I did figure out how to read a directory and generate a gamelist and also scrape images, but they were never named or tagged the way I wanted or needed them to be.

What I have resorted to doing is using Skraper and then just using bulkrename to add -image, -video, -fanart Etc to my art then putting them all in one images folder.

Then I re-scrape inside Retro and let it find that all the art is there, and then recreate the gamelist with the tags.

It's a bit tedious but I guess it works aight.

@d8thstar said in neogeoX build issues:

recently downloaded an “snk” only image with neo geo, classic snk arcade, neo geo color games.

We don't support 3rd party images, use the image from retropie.org.uk/download and we can help if you still have the same problem.

@duglor said in Apple 2 gs Emulators?:

Is GSPlus the only emulator right now that is capable of emulating the apple 2 gs?

No, there are several - see https://emulation.gametechwiki.com/index.php/Apple_IIGS_emulators.

If no, are there any lr-XXXX emulators for it? Does lr-Mess work with it???

Yes, upstream MAME is included in RetroPie and can emulate (among other systems) the Apple2GS. There's no out-of-the-box configuration for it, so you'll have to add your own system for Apple2GS and the emulator command for the system.

@Simrose In my personal experience, using and configuring multiple controllers in retropie involves going into the system file and changing the cfg file every time you want to change the controller (if you have custom mapping keys as I always use like volume). Also installing new systems, you have to enter to the repo and download different packages or drivers. With Batocera you place the bios files, roms and you are running, also you have a built in file browser inside the system, even if you want to configure any emulator setting you can do it right from the main menu without using a keyboard or entering any game. This is great to apply global settings like resolution, shaders or bezels.
For me its better and has much more options but Retropie has a better forum and support for solutions. This is my experience after years of using both.
