      I believe the problem is the same as

      https://github.com/midwan/amiberry/issues/542

      I have debugged it and described on the ticket how to fix it so you may not need the workaround soon I hope.

      Amiberry 3.0 (Amiga emulator) released, can it be included in next official RetroPie release?

      It's already included (update). It's an optional install though so won't be pre-installed in the next image.

      Getting the games to run with just a controller can be a pain. I wrote a detailed tutorial on how to get this working.

      @BuZz I think this can be the problem. What's the best way to convert these games in a compatible format for lr-puae?

      @ChaosFox I have a question on vanilla VICE in Retropie you might be able to answer...

      Is there a way to move the virtual keyboard display from the very top/center of the screen. I'd like to pull it down to the bottom as it covers over any questions asked if using a cracked/trainer version of the game. I have to constantly close the display, read the question, re-open...answer.. and repeat.

      Other than that, vanilla VICE and a wireless setup is definitely the way to go .

      Thanks!

      Some mouse-only games are still setup to use just controllers and not the attached mouse/keyboard when you use the WHDLoad version. Populous, for example. I don't know what i need to do to unset that, so I can't make any suggestion for you on this either (if it's the case).

      My only other suggestion would be to disconnect your controllers before firing up an amiga game and/or switch USB ports so that your mouse and keyboard are on the lower port numbers (0 and 1).

      Thank you for your quick response, on this subject, after watching a ETA on youtube, he changed the platform to PI3 not sure of the constant name, as I'm on my PC writing this.

      I thought there may be ways around it, but after looking at the forums a bit, I see it looks like I newish architecture for the PI4 over the previous models, pitty I like RetroPie, tried DietPi, and got lost, and just started eating :).

      Anyways if it's not possible than thank you

      @Dwarfboysim
      Any specific reasons to use RetroPie for that? If you are only interested in Amiga Emulation, maybe this Project: Amibian could be a suitable alternative for you.

      Otherwise, maybe a modification of the scripts mentioned in this topic: Autostart last played game could be used ?

      I'd like to thank you for your effort in producing this guide and tool. I successfully managed to configure RetroPIe/Emulation/RetroArch/PR-UAE to run the converted LHA files. However, I have noticed a bizarre bug/issue and found a workaround for it which I will detail below:

      I have two laptops of similar specification. This is the process I followed:

      Clean install of Kubuntu Install RetroPie, basic installation and PR-UAE from optional packagaes Copy kickstart bios roms to RetroPie/BIOS folder Copy LHA files to /RetroPie/roms/amiga folder Followed the above guide and used the script to convert LHA files Ran a few games to test

      This process worked perfectly on one laptop, so I decided to try on another, however, when I tried to run some games from retropie/emulationstation, the games would not load ( I tried the same games that I played on the previous laptop), and I was taken back to the amiga games list in emulation station.
      I looked in the /dev/shm/runcommand.log but did not see anything different to the logs on the first laptop.

      I thought that maybe the PR-UAE installation/configuration was the issue so decided to test with an ADF file and the game loaded confirming that PR-UAE worked.
      Out of curiosity I tried another converted LHA and to my surprise it loaded successfully.
      I tried another converted LHA file but it didn't work.
      I loaded the same ADF again successfully, then tried the converted LHA from the previous step and it loaded.

      So for some reason on this laptop, in order to successfully load a converted LHA, I must first load an ADF - this is tedious for 60+ games, but once the LHA has loaded once, it will load again without having to run an ADF first.

      Anyway, this was my experience. I have no idea why this happened, but I thought I would share just in case other people would benefit from it.

      Thanks again for creating this guide and tool!

      @Efriim you are right, I had to do a chown for the pi user on the nvram file itself which was I think in /opt/retropie/configs/amiga/amiberry. It now saves there.

      @mrsoczi We don't offer support for 3rd party images - https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

      For wireless controllers, take a look at the Controllers section in the Docs, you can use one of the PS3/PS4 controllers, an Xbox controller, 8Bit do controllers, etc.

      I remember having an issue before with Amiberry and trying to reset the autoboots of my games. If I remember correctly I fixed it by going to:

      /opt/retropie/configs/amiga/amiberry/whdboot/game-data

      And deleting the whdload_db.xml file from there (or you could manually go through the entire list and remove the entries you wish to show the bootloader for again).

      Obviously I would strongly suggest backing up the file first before deleting or editing it! I hope this helps!

      @HoraceAndSpider

      By all means, thank you very much for taking a look. The links are these (I think these are ok here, as they are fan remakes, but let me know otherwise):

      ftp://ftp:any@grandis.nu/~Uploads/Aladin/WHDLOAD generic/RoadAvengerAGA-WHDL.lzx
      ftp://ftp:any@grandis.nu/~Uploads/Aladin/WHDLOAD generic/TimeGalAGA-WHDL.lzx

      I had to convert them from LZX to LHA (unless I shouldn't have?), and it might also certainly be an issue on my end as, as I mentioned, I have little familiarity with the Amiga ecosystem.

      Apologies for the trouble, and thank you for your time and dropping by. By the way, thank you for your GitHub repository - it was tremendously helpful in getting this set up :)

      EDIT: if it helps, I'm happy to share the created config files for WHDLoad for these in my setup. Maybe it's just something absurdly obvious. Thank you and let me know how I can help.

      Whdload should be automatic. There is a thread on the forum though with lots of info. Search for whdload and sort by date.
