      I only had the really long shut down the first time. It now only takes about 15 seconds. In fact, before I rebuilt my SD card from scratch, It usually took about 45-50 seconds to fully boot with metadata. Now it's taking around 25 seconds. So my splash screen video I'm using now takes longer to fully play than the system does to load up. Still, I think even a simple progress bar on the "EmulationStation Loading" screen would be a nice thing to have. But something like that is going to require more than displaying a simple static splash screen.

      What if this exact same issue arises after making zero changes to a retropie that had been working for several months?

      I was playing snes roms for an hour or so, plugged in my keyboard to test out Kodi, and all of the sudden an error began popping up "illegal instruction" when attempting to boot/reboot the Pi.

      I've run the retropie update scripts, hoping that could solve the issue but it hasn't. Now the "illegal instruction" does not appear, however the Emulation Station splash screen flashes for half a second, and then its back to the initial boot up command line screen.

      My filesystem is far from full, so I know that's not an issue.

      I've also attempted to remove one console worth of ROMS to see if ES is overloaded in anyway, to no avail. Any help would be tremendously appreciated.

      Would it be useful to also add an option like that to the built in scraper?

      @Zigurana

      Strange new problem happened when i installed Retropie 4.1 and then Es-kids.

      When i have roms from mame2003 in libretro-mame folder or arcade folder es wont start and boots to cmd line. This don't happen with regular es.

      Well, the guys over at libretro confirmed that currently analog triggers are not supported. For some reason I took analog trigger support for granted. Was a long road to get there :)

      Anyway, does enabling analog triggers for Retropie make any sense then if they cannot be used in Retroarch anyway? I could either still do a PR or just let this branch go stale and maybe it can be of use later. I personally think it does not make sense.

      @twd oh i forgot to mention that it was for mame. my roms work for other emulators like snes and genesis on ES but not on AM.

      also, not interested in using floobs image yet. I like to make it myself and know how to configure it manually. just seems like the right info isnt displayed anywhere online. i have a feeling i need to get floobs image tho, this shit is frustratingly difficult.

      The behavior I'm seeing now a days is consistent between EmulationStation and the RetroPie-Setup Script. The big outlier for me is the Raspi-Config menu being the opposite of everything else. Has anyone discovered a way to swap the confirm/cancel button behavior for Raspi-Config?
