@OregonPacifist there isn't anything magical about it. You can put those roms back into the arcade folder and they will work. You just need to change the default emulator in the runcommand menu. Definitely should read the documents links previously posted.

@thelostsoul Yeah, autofire here makes it possible to harvest about 20 grenades at a pop.

@shoebox low voltage can cause big problems, underclocking is one of them. I would skip the canakit power supply as they are one of the less reliable and go straight to the official raspberry pi power supply.

@dankcushions What I did now was putting all my arcade ROMS into the arcade ROM folder, instead of spreading them over the 2 different folders/emus I mentioned before.
Then, for those games requiring Mame4All I set that emulator for the individual ROM via the configurator (press any key on game start-up).
For the others I chose lr-mame2003 via the default emulator value.
Now all my arcade games are running fine out of one and the same (arcade) folder and most important, now for all games I have a (one and the same) configuration UI (press Tab) - perfect.

@GtBFilms I have mixed feelings now. Indeed, milking the dungeon to the right of the first level does allow you to increase your score quite a bit, though I kind of feel wrong about relying on it. Maybe we should do one run without milking it (i.e. just going through it straight ahead, not staying longer and killing more)?

I got 39,300, died in the middle of the second level.

In the dungeon, immediately to the left of the starting location if you destroy the wall I received an item that was worth around 10k points, I think? Unsure if it’s permanently there or random, but hope it helps.

@jay-lakin Once you have the reference set downloaded, you should look carefully to see what form that download is in. Is it an archive? If so, it will need extracting somewhere. You can then copy the reference set to the arcade folder. Samples are treated differently as linked and may not even come with the reference set. My set was an archive which presented me with three folders once it was unzipped. They were docs, roms and samples. The docs folder was very useful because it included a games list. I recommend transferring just one game from this set to verify that you have followed this process. Open up the roms folder and choose something like invaders.zip, transfer it using your preferred method then launch it. I use winscp for this. It should launch but without sound. You can then get the invaders sample zip from somewhere and locate it in the correct folder as linked. Now when you launch, it will have sound. You can then transfer other games of interest or all of the games. You have to make sure that you have read all of the guidance in advance. You must check that you are launching the rom with the correct emulator selected from the run command and that you do actually have 0.78 roms and that everything remains zipped after unpacking the original 0.78 set download.
