@meleu said in Powering off via UI while using a Mausberry Circuit:

Do all the steps I showed on that topic and try to reboot your system. Describe here what happens.

And then perform this command: sudo systemctl disable killes; sudo systemctl stop killes and reboot your system. Describe here what happens.

SO, for starters, I have already done what you prescribed in the other thread to build the service and the killes.sh. Mine is till in the ~/bin folder, which is fine by me for now. After setting the killes.sh as executable, it works great! That is to say, I can do a software shutdown from command line for instance, and it definitely saves my metadata. Favorites and custom collections are awesome. Moreover, my additional line which triggers the NPN transistor does indeed let the Mausberry circuit know that a shutdown is imminent and it properly notices the drop on the GPIO it is monitoring and it cuts power. I really like this clever solution.

It also cuts power when I initiate a reboot. That makes sense to me, and for now I am willing to live with it. The point is that software shutdown requests properly exit ES and no longer lock up my Mausberry circuit.

Seems to me, the improvement to this would be to set a conditional statement before my GPIO command to trigger the transistor such that it checks to see if this is a shutdown/poweroff or if this is a reboot. I just don't know what to check to verify one way or the other--yet.

As for your command above, I initiated the command as you suggested and the system immediately did a shutdown, mausberry circuit powered off.

Hi, I have problem with my x360 controller beacuse in menu i can normally use it and in game i can play but I can't do select+start to get to menu. Do you have any ideas?

A couple questions, are you running this on an x86 build or a pi build?

I assume the emulators in question are libretro emulators?

The reason I ask is that I just redid my x86 build and am running into the exact same problem right now with a fresh install. Currently doing some of my own troubleshooting to figure it out, and I went to look here to see if anyone else was having the problem.

Ask the person who you bought it from. No one can help you here until you start with a fresh clean image from this website.

      This.

They shouldn't have sold it to you - it's illegal for them to do so.

Setting up Retropie is really easy, and I'm sure people here will hold your hand through the process of you find it intimidating.

You should understand that people here will be very reluctant to help you until you install the (free) legal version of Retropie.

In the meantime, maybe you should contact the seller and demand a refund - they charged you money for something that is supposed to be free.

@mitu how am I'm supposed to enable SSH when I can't go into the menu to enable it?

Look at the page I mentioned, the 2nd method is simpler - pop-up your SD card and insert it into your PC, then create an empty file called ssh (no extension) on the /boot partition, the same folder as the config.txt file.
Put the SD card back and boot the PI, you should have SSH enabled.

I think the good way id to create 2 core option files and launch the game with correct option file depending u want to launch in jap 60hz or use 60 hz or pal 50 hz.

Is possible in gamelist to set the lauching command specifically for each game?

@ccb9951 you should delete the config, uninstall linapple and reinstall from binary. You dont have to mess with any settings in the config other than the controller (and whether you are using a mockingbird or a mouse. You can set color too If you want to change it but you can change that with f-keys. But you dont need to change any disk drive settings. That will work right out of the box.

@KNGAlive: You can see the master THEMES.md from the original EmulationStation github repo here. The only 'sound' mentioned in this document is the <scrollsound> within the "textlist". Unless they've been added my another developer somewhere along the way (unlikely), then that is the only sound you can use. Sorry.

On a related note, I'd like to see your theme when it's done. I always love to see new themes. If you need a hand with anything else theme related, there is a Tutorial on the wiki.

Also, welcome to the Forum :D
