@magikarp1232 today i get the third badge(im playing the yellow version in my raspberry),i like the game, the moves effect and i considerer the game a little hard...the moves don't hit much and pokemons don't give you much exp neither, you can get TMs random drop from trainers or wilds pokemons(i really enjoy that, they have low chance )...for now i enjoy the game

@jasonmadeapie How do you change the controls ? When you open the controls menu (for P1), you have on the left the button on your RetroPad (your controller) and on the right the emulated buttons. Use Left/Right to change the values on the right, cycling between the possible buttons that the system accepts. Go back in game and test the buttons, then once you're set, just save a Core or Content Remap from the Controls menu.

Will take a look around, thanks. Just to be clear, I don't have an es_systems.cfg in the directory right now, doing that will cause it to appear so I can modify it? Sorry to clutter the thread, I'm still pretty new to this stuff. I'm running the latest version of RetroPie on a 3b+, if that makes any difference.
      Edit
Should have clicked the link before responding, all good now! Thanks for the quick response and help

Turning off "parse gamelists only" setting did the trick. NES loaded and I was able to scrape again and have a new gamelist.xml. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

I guess you have to set it up per game?

      Yes, it should be per-game.

Playing with the sourcecode, I usurped the 8:7 PAR to be just 8:7 like 4:3. The switch that controls this is a boolean and I haven't the time to change it right now (and then I would need to make a github account to request a pull for the changes).

Are you sure the ROMs are ok ? What format are they - .zip, .nes ?

I have a Raspberry pi 3b+ running retropie 4.6, Some apple power supply that undervolts the Pi

You should get yourself a proper power source, otherwise you're risking of corrupting your installation again.

@REK607 oh, was there another version of it? I had actually bought both of these on Steam in the past, but I assumed they'd be the same.

I do love Micro Mages, and the PICO-8 also has a fair bit of fun games there which, if it'd help, I could gladly put together a list for. I just never saw a lot of interest in it around here - which, to be fair, isn't surprising given that it's quite niche :)

Ahh I get it. I thought the quick menu was the core options. I'm still finding my way around - there's a ton to retroarch!

Regarding runahead, I gave https://docs.libretro.com/guides/runahead/ a good read. I didn't try calculating the amount of runahead needed to offset the latency, but I just tried it set to 1 and the game and audio stutters. My Pi is currently setup stock speed if that matters.

Also, if I enable a second instance in there, I get Failed to create second instance.

Found the retroarch config thanks for the fps. So many places to set stuff.

      Cheers!

@top-specci said in Possible? NES games and endless lives (Pokes?):

So, there is no "simple" way to see a picture from (i.e.) Dig-Dug in the game selection menu if I move the cursor over the Dig-Dug game in the menu?

You can use Select to edit the game's metadata, including the path to the picture.

Thought like as it possible in the launching-picture option,
when a picture with same name exists as the rom-file has ... show this picture.

Now that you mention it, there is an option in Emulationstation to do that - it's named Search for Local Art, under the Other options.

      7eb9b13f-defb-42e5-83bd-a40e25ae3dd4-image.png

I think it searches automatically the images/<ROM>-image.png or images/<ROM>-image.jpg files to show them as images.

@xtratos24 I just noticed that there's also a section about the Wiimote in the Docs:
