    This is an Ultra series card. Extreme series cards yield much better throughput on the Pi. It appears to be discounted today as well however, though still at a premium compared to the ultra series.

    Agreed. And I always back up those files anyway! (since I hate having to do work twice ;)

    @herb_fargus Well, I've thought about it and now I have an opinion: I think that the best approach would be to keep the wiki matching the RetroPie configs. It would be a K.I.S.S. approach, because it's hard to maintain this info always up-to-date with upstream supported extensions.

    And then rename the "extensions" column with "suggested extensions". I think it would be easier to maintain. And would avoid people saying "wiki says that the X supports only extensions .foo and .bar but it supports .xyz also".

    @Dochartaigh Thanks, I will check that out and let you know how it goes. I kinda suck at this game to. I have it for PC currently. I remember I had an exceptional night with this game once and nearly beat it in one sitting (the path which is a remake of the first game because that's the one I used to play most). Just the right amount of beer I guess lol. Still I'd love to get this on my RetroPie build so thanks very much for the tip.

    @Wizardling Glad I could help. That 5V fan should keep things nice and stable at 1300 MHz. I do not recommend overclocking the CPU at all without active cooling, but sounds like you have that covered. Best of luck to you in your experimentation friend.

    @Wizardling I can't speak to the general design choice for an outward blowing fan in most consumer electronics blow outward. This won't prevent dust accumulation because what goes out must come in somewhere else. This is usually remedied with air filters of some kind.

    I use an inward blower and it seems to be working great. My Pi3 generally runs about 20 degrees cooler with the fan. I also use a heatsink applied with arctic silver thermal adhesive so the cooling is quite efficient. I'm not concerned about dust buildup because I just use it for gaming sessions that last no more than a couple hours once or twice a week so I imagine to get enough dust buildup to cause a problem will take years.

    @gazum123 Glad I could help. The High-Resolution mode does incur some minor graphical glitches in some games, but the visual improvement is very obvious and I believe it is a necessity for a high-def TV, especially since the default resolution has this grainy effect which I find distasteful. I believe that all graphical calculations (geometry, texture mapping, etc) for PS1 emulation are done exclusively through software with little to no help from the GPU. As a result PS1 emulation carries a high CPU usage compared to most other emulators (especially in high-res mode) and gamers couldn't enjoy the high res mode in a lot of games until the Pi3. The Pi3 seems to be able to handle it without fully utilizing an ARM core however so I highly recommend it.

    Ok, that helped, thanks a bunch.

    Still not getting full screen at 1920x1080... it's playing in a native size much smaller... but it's playing well with no stutters.

    Here is my es_systems.cfg file for jzintv:
    <system>
    <name>intellivision</name>
    <fullname>Intellivision</fullname>
    <path>/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/intellivision</path>
    <extension>.int .bin .rom .INT .BIN .ROM</extension>
    <command>/opt/retropie/emulators/jzintv/bin/jzintv -v1 --kbdhackfile=/opt/retropie/emulators/jzintv/hackfile.cfg %ROM%</command>
    <platform>intellivision</platform>
    <theme>intellivision</theme>
    </system>

    Here is my emulators.cfg for Intellivision (jzintv)
    jzintv = "/opt/retropie/emulators/jzintv/bin/jzintv -v1 -p -z1920x1080,8 -f1 -q /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS -q %ROM%"
    default = "jzintv"

    I've thought about this a lot myself.

    I have a 2nd generic Xbox 360 wireless adapter and have broken it down to just the chip inside (which is still MUCH larger than it needs to be - tons of blank board space all around). It's small enough that it should slip right into the official Raspberry Pi case with maybe even some room to spare since the Pi is tall where the 4x USB ports are, with a lot of wasted space behind it in the case.

    I'm currently researching if I can hard-wire the 4x wires of the USB plug to the Pi's GPIO wires (which I don't think is possible), or how to most easily connect the wireless adapter inside the Pi's case so it looks nice and neat from the outside at least (if anybody has links to any tutorials I'm all ears!).

    The problem I haven't figured out yet is how to select which player is which. I commonly have an issue where the Xbox wireless adapter steals player 1 even when it's plugged into the traditional Player 3 or Player 4 USB slot (this is when I plug in my 6-button Genesis controller for example, for some Streets of Rage action ;) and the only way to get that Genesis controller to be player 1 is to unplug the Xbox wireless adapter...which won't be possible if I hard wire it (unless I put in a switch or something). Might just snake a very short wire out of the case to a regular USB plug if it would look OK.

    @alrdtakn1 This may very well be happening to me and I don't even realize it as I'm using Ethernet. If you haven't done so, download the latest image with the latest firmware and hopefully that solves the problem. I'm afraid that's the only advice I can offer other than disabling the SD card overclock at this time. It doesn't sound like you are doing anything wrong. This isn't the first story I've heard about finicky wifi with an overclock, it seems the included module is very sensitive to certain settings.

    @obsidianspider Yes I agree with you that some peoples expectations of the platform are way up in the clouds, posts about emulating PS2, Gamecube, and Wii comes to mind. But on the other hand its good to have high expectations to a certain degree as that encourages innovation and clever programming. I'm amazed with what this little device can do and tinkering with the Pi platform has become a routine pass-time for me.

    @enderandrew This isn't necessarily the case because some USB 2.0 flash drives are a lot slower than what the USB 2.0 standard allows in my experience. With A USB 3.0 flash drive, you will likely see performance much closer to the maximum USB 2.0 is capable of on the Pi as they are built for speed. I bought a low-profile USB 3.0 drive for this reason and in my case, throughput did not disappoint.

    I am very happy to report that preliminary results with the Sandisk Extreme 128 GB card are very positive. The model is SDSQXVF-128G-GN6MA, or at least that is what is indicated by the reseller. Below are my results before and after the SD card reader overclock.

    Before:
    0_1479432422708_Pi3-SDBenchmark-BeforeOverclock-Sandisk-Extreme-128GB.png

    After:
    0_1479432463937_Pi3-SDBenchmark-AfterOverclock-Sandisk-Extreme-128GB.png

    I should mention that the card was a little difficult to jam in the reader on the Pi3 because of a slight protrusion on the card itself. I'm just guessing but I believe it is extra space taken by the flash controller. If you do get this card, don't plan on removing and reinserting it on a regular basis, as it will probably be harder on this card than most. Also, be prepared to pay a premium for this one.
