@skylo It's not quite the same. The 1A model is one of the first Pi model and it's a single core 700Mhz system, no WiFi and just 512 Mb memory. It doesn't compare to a Pi4 or 3b+, which are still in current (in fabrication). You'd be better getting a Zero W model for a handheld build.

This looks like an emulator configuration issue. Please add some info about your setup/issue - as detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first - and provide a verbose log.

@twistedpixels sorry for the late answer, yes, you need to do something like this:
set serpentine to run for 60 seconds (endTime="60")
then set filler to run for 30 seconds but start after 60 seconds (startTime="60" endTime="30")
then set pulse to start after 90 seconds and run for 60 (startTime="90" endTime="30")

I think they will repeat, but let me know if not!

@lupin it may well be a generic thing that would affect the official retropie image also but they are not supported here because we don't know what has changed under the hood, and also do not want to encourage the distribution of illegal material under the retropie name, etc. the image maker calling it 'official' is particularly egregious...

where the "X" is set to be 1(up) 2(right) 4(down) or 8(left) depending on the direction.

@2stupid2dothis When Port 1 and Port 2 device types are set to "Auto" in Quick Menu -> Controls (RetroArch menu), the emulator puts a regular NES controller in port 1 and an Arkanoid controller in port 2. You can use a mouse as the Arkanoid controller in this configuration.

If you want to use a controller's D-pad instead, you can set Port 1 and Port 2 device types to "Gamepad."

There's no option in RetroPie for this configuration, but you can use gparted and shrink the 2nd partition (which is ext4) to make room for a 3rd partition. Since gparted is a Linux application, you'll need a Linux system to run it - you can use the Gparted LiveCD to run it on a system that doesn't have Linux installed.

The easier solution would be to use an USB drive - which you can format as exFAT - and put your ROMs on it: https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Running-ROMs-from-a-USB-drive/.

@mitu I did all that you suggested and was able to get the inputs to work after I remapped them again.

There is still a mismatch between what the controller config says and what the input port binds say though. Its as if the input binds themselves are labeled incorrectly. I highlighted an example of the discrepancy below.

has to do with pc games, I am not sure I understand how to get them in and working. what format is is looking for and if i just copy cd's of games thats good until i get to disk games, like most I no longer have disc drives.

the one i am using is .160 but I have .149 and .150, .078, and .238(or something like that). which version is the best to use.

you choose an emulator then choose the set for that emulator. 0.78 would be appropriate with the default for the mame-libretro folder (lr-mame2003). see https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Arcade/

@mitu geez that was quite a fast reply/clarification, no sooner had I walked away from my comp/posting then I realized I'd been remiss in not asking another even more pertinent question:

Have you all had any/many MicroSDs you were using on your Pis FAIL? (I'm guessing there are some informatively depressing threads here that can share some stories about as much...?).

At the end of the day, perhaps whatever larger MSD I get for these CDROM games (granted, I guess we'll see how many of them have stood the test of time to be worth keeping), ideally I may even have enough space on it to also fit what's on my current 128gb, who knows (and in turn, likely another 512gb/whatever to back THAT one up).

Ultimately, memory is never quite as pricy as the time spent collecting it...

We don't support 3rd party images, especially the ones loaded with ROMs and sold - RetroPie's image license is specifically non-commercial.
Ask the seller for support.
