    @chubsta said in ZX Spectrum keyboard - Pi400 mapping:

    Even just a printout which shows which keys on the Pi relate to which keys on the Spectrum would be a nice start as I currently struggling to marry up the keys on the Pi with what I would like to achieve on the 'Spectrum'.

    Assuming you're using the fuse core, I don't think the mapping is that complicated. The core docs show the keyboard is sent as is, but I assume this applies to the core when game focus mode is enabled in RetroArch. Unfortunately, the PI400's keyboard doesn't include the 'Scroll Lock' key which is used by RetroArch to toggle 'game focus mode', so you'll have to rebind it to another key.

    Alternatively, you can give Zesarux a try and see how it fits with the Pi400.

    Have a Wifi password with a # and there is no # in the onscreen keyboard to enter a #.

    You need to press the Shift key to get # to show up in the OSK dialog

    Yes, correct location,...

    Location is not enough, you also need to set the Keyboard layout from raspi-config. What kind of keyboard go you have ? Does it have a non-US layout ?

    Okay Thanks to mitu because I got to digging into the speaker-test function and because I only had the one snd_usb_audio
    I found out that in the lcd config that comes with the GPi Case 2 patch they have the following in the config

    dtparam=audio=off

    so changing that to on enabled snd_bcm2835 at index 0 then I just followed the Alternate USB Audio Method from RetroPie Docs and changed the snd_usb_audio from index 1 to 0 and rebooted and now I have sound.

    I do not know if this is 100% correct or a buggy workaround as I am all new to Linux. But thanks a bunch for the help :)

    My sd-card die recently. i transfered my metadata, download_images and gamelists folders, to a new setup and everything looks fine except that, if i run again skyscraper, it starts to download the pics that i have already download. My question: Is this a normal behavior or i missing something? Thanks!

    Yes, it's normal - Skyscraper downloads files into it's cache first, then it copies them to the final location. If you haven't transferred your cache (from $HOME/.skyscraper/cache), then it's normal that the artwork/videos are re-downloaded.

    I think opening the issue is ok - seems something is not working correctly. Note that SDL includes some testing applications in the test folder, one of them is a joystick test - if you can reproduce the issue with it, then there's no need for pysdl2 or any confusion on the usage of SDL's event handling functions.

  • NES Power Pad / Family Fun Fitness / Family Trainer support?

    I just want to follow up on this because it is still the first result for me on Google when I search for "RetroPie Power Pad."

    lr-mesen and lr-fceumm both support all of these games now. lr-mesen assigns the 12 buttons to joypad buttons, while lr-fceumm assigns them to keyboard keys from RetroArch's RETRO_DEVICE_KEYBOARD type.

    I am using two generic USB dance pads side by side. They are recognized as controllers, and I find it easier to map the buttons in lr-fceumm for my specific setup.

    lr-fceumm allows the Power Pad to be assigned to ports 2 and 3 natively, and the user can use the Quick Menu -> Options -> Controls menu to set the appropriate RETROK keys to each physical button (you go to the physical button in the list for the port that you want to map, and you scroll left/right until you find the right keyboard key).

    The Family Trainer is a Famicom Expansion Port device and is therefore available for port 5. RetroArch's "map to port" feature allows the user to duplicate port 5's functionality on another port, so two dance pads can be combined this way.

    I know that all of the North American Power Pad games work fine with lr-fceumm. Just make sure you have the correct Power Pad side mapped! The buttons will be mirrored if you use the wrong side (it's the equivalent of flipping the mat upside down).

    I know for sure that Family Trainer 5 (Meiro Daisakusen) and 8 (Takeshi's Castle) work fine (even the English-patched version of 8). The other eight Family Trainer games should also work fine. Here's hoping someone is interested in tackling an English translation for 9 (Takeshi's Castle 2)!

    @sleve_mcdichael

    i actually made a function for this like:
    def stop_runcommand():
    os.system("pkill -f runcommand.sh")

    wich works and kills runcommand and even returns you to attract mode.

    thanks!

    @WhiteT982

    Haven't made my way yet to N64.

    Still trying to settle the texture packs for the NES.

    Thanks for the folder directory location though.

    It will be easier now that I know where those will go.
