    @dudleydes
    Thanks a lot, added /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS/mame2003/samples/
    in /opt/retropie/configs/mame-mame4all/mame.cfg and it works fine!

    @Rabidtrout actually @dudleydes already said to do this earlier in the thread. :)

    Please open a new issue for an unrelated problem so it's easier for people to find when searching etc.

    @gothats yeah, I noticed it stopped to work as expected. I'll check what's wrong and let you know if I discover something.

    I was seeing a similar issue with my setup and after enabling some script debugging I was seeing the following result from the dpkg-query command:

    pi@retropie:~/RetroPie-Setup $ dpkg-query -W '--showformat=${Status} ${Version}' lsb-release
    Segmentation fault

    This lead me to some articles about refreshing this package so after running:

    pi@retropie:~/RetroPie-Setup $ sudo apt-get --reinstall install dpkg

    I was back to being able to successfully complete a run of the /home/pi/RetroPie-Setup/retropie_packages.sh command again.

    @rbaker no offence to OP but I'd be willing to bet that most people who are running Windows 10 iot on the pi would probably know the simple steps of recreating a folder if the got to the point of getting retropie functioning on iot ;)

    @dawtyne10 Were you ever able to find a solution. I have the exact same issue as you when I exit Kodi to emulation station. I am running my roms, and I'm pretty sure therefore Kodi, from a usb rather than from the micro sd, so I've always attributed it to that. Hoping there was some kind of solution. Thanks.

    I have always set up via Retroarch options and it's listed as something like enhance resolution (can't remember the exact name), but that is on the Raspberry Pi builds. I always find it because it's the option right above the speed hack.

    On the PC, there may be other options for enhancement.

    @Sockett77
    Please post the contents of your emu.cfg file.

    Should be located in either:
    /opt/retropie/configs/dreamcast/emu.cfg
    or
    /home/pi/.reicast/emu.cfg

    @Concat said in Runcommand Images Preventing Runcommand Menu:

    I'm better off just mashing :)

    I hear you. I've made the same comment about a few fighting games in the past. 'Primal Rage' comes to mind.

    @Dominus
    For the Metroid games where you need to keep pressing the Select button or like Wrecking Crew on the NES where it kicks you out of the current game when pressing Select, I made a config file with the same name as the rom with .cfg appended to it (like Metroid.zip.cfg) and then setup the Guide/Logo button as Hotkey on my Xbox 360 controller just for those games:

    # Hotkey button input_enable_hotkey_btn = 10 #Guide

    Or you can change it for every game on 1 system (like for MAME2003) by added the above to this file:
    /opt/retropie/configs/mame-libretro/retroarch.cfg

    I recently played through Robocop using lr-fbalpha (0.175 romset) and I didn't notice any speed issues (but I'm not sure if I would noticed 57.4 vs 60 on that particular game). I am interested to see if anyone knows how to change the refresh rate in Mame2003.

    @rbaker The first time I tried, I did follow that link exactly. After that didn't work and I started over a number of times trying it over and over, in the Retropie menu on Emulationstation there is a Basic Install option that says it will automatically add all the core and main emulators, so I did that instead of Manage Packages, to try and save a step as I had been trying for hours. I reinstalled the Image several times to try from the beginning. Each time the initial boot up seemed like it was going correctly based on the videos I watched and instructions from wiki.

    The emulators I'm most interested in trying for starters are NES, SNES and SG/Megadrive

    Yes, I did configure a controller during the first boot process. I followed this https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/First-Installation#installation up to transferring roms from USB...the final instruction says to "Refresh Emulationstation by choosing Restart Emulationstation from the start menu" After doing so, I could never get ES to start back up. I tried to not do the restart a couple of times, but nothing happened. There were no emulators or roms I could see or access.

    You're playing an old console which had a low res output on a TV which has a high resolution (HD), thats why it looks so bad. Beside back in the days we thought that the graphics looked good because we didn't knew any better.

    I'm using the smooth video option and the games look very good, the PSX emu had an extra graphic enhancer option when I used that option the PSX games did lag. Maybe it works better on a overclocked Pi.

    Some games look very good pixelated, for an example Donkey Kong Country 2 on the SNES looks very good without the smooth option.

    All you can do is update retropie and the pcsx core to latest and hope that fixes it. You might have to ask a libretro pcsx dev to look into it. Otherwise, there's always the gba version or fan translated on snes or FF2 censored official on snes.
