@mitu Thank you for this correction

This issue has corrected itself after connecting to the network by ethernet.

I believe this was happening because I had all systems roms showing a video rather than just a screenshot and the system was having to pull all of those depending upon which system menu I entered.

Thank you again for assisting me with all of the issues I am running into. Many keep falling back to the network access sadly. Maybe not from here forward!!

With what games do you have this issue ? Can you try with lr-scummvm (experimental packages) to see if the games are working here ? I suggest also to update your system if you haven't done it.

Edit: I just remember something from the day that was using RPi3. Can you change the Graphic mode to OpenGL in the ScummVM gui and try again the games that don't run?

@mitu Ok i will look into the games and see what emulator is being used. Iv started building the cabinet, and am gonna go six button layout with one player and coin and two player and coin on the top face, then one button each side for pinball games. I see people have built them with another two buttons on the front side, but i dont know what they are for, so i will leave them for now. Its getting cold in the uk right now, so being in the shed is murder, i just wanna get the thing put together and get it in the house so i can figuer the rest out, without freezing hands and feet. thanks for your help though.

By default, you don't need any configuration - a RPI3 will enable the analog video/audio when no HDMI is detected.

enable_tvout is just for Pi4, which doesn't do the switch automatically.

When you're measuring the output, is the cable plugged in the Pi ? If the signal goes through, then maybe the issue is the TV - does it accept composite from other sources ? Do you have a PAL or NTSC TV ?

@franek1709 Thanks for that simple fix. I've been loving playing the old Amiga games but that issue with the mouse pointer had made it such a pain loading in the disk images. Works perfectly now :)

After trying a few times, and it crashed my pi, it finally just worked, and I was able to map the buttons in emulationstation. The light will always move from left to right at the bottom of the pad, but it seems to work fine (for now).

can connect and configure controller but when I reboot it will not reconnect no matter the connection method used.

If you shut down the controller and start the Pi first, does it connect when you start it up again ?

It depends on the list of resolutions reported by the display, but for a TV the usual NTSC/PAL 'resolution' are usually supported by it and by the Pi. A Pi 3b+ supports up to 1080p, if your display doesn't offer anything less (i.e. 4k only) then it's not going to work.
If you run from the terminal, after the error is shown, the command:

tvservice -m CEA tvservice -m DMT

what's the output ?

@wtstreetglow1 Just letting anyone in the future know that after my research. Final Burn Neo games still go in the fba rom folder and mame 078 go in the mame-libreto rom folder
