I tried to create the udev role, but that didn't worked for me and i actually dont know why it has to be this specific file name for the rules.

Please add some info about your setup, as detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

The filename's extension is important since this is how udev recognizes it as a configuration file. The name itself doesn't matter, as long as it's in the right folder and having the correct extension.

What error are you getting when you're trying to create the file ?

if I plug a keyboard and press ALT+Tab and return to the emulationstation it shows the normal picture.

Are you using the desktop to start EmulationStation ? This is not supported on a Raspberry Pi, EmulationStation (and the emulators it starts) should run outside of the Desktop env.

@chris-1 Spyro runs well on my pi zero (original model) using the standalone pcsxrearmed so pi zero 2 should have no problem. In the case of PS1 emulation I think youre better off using the RetroArch version because it's more up to date. The pi zero 2 should have more than enough overhead to handle it.

@barbudreadmon It's not really that it's outdated... the games really don't run well because many of them simply have a hard time being software emulated.

A lot of work has been done since then, and a lot of success. Games like Gorf sound nearly identical to the original. But some of these super old titles still are not fully emulated. Hopefully, some day they will be.

Would love to see Omori's Space Guerilla (sound and graphics still have issues) and the original Bally/Midway Demolition Derby.. or even Atari's Tank.. if they're not already. It's been a while for me with MAME as I've reached a point where it's not worth while to update unless something really good comes out. 6 machines later... I'd have to do them all.

@icer363 said in Skyscraper not showing videos?:

I have it enabled in the settings.

Do you enabled it in the Skyscraper settings or EmulationStation (or maybe both) ?
Note that after you scrape (with videos enabled), you need to run the gamelist generation step again in order for the videos to show up in EmulationStation.

    @dteam

    Solved.

I deleted the runcommand.sh file with "file manager" in

    /opt/retropie/supplementary/runcommand/runcommand.sh

I changed the permission from 644 to 755 for

    /home/pi/RetroPie-Setup/scriptmodules/supplementary/runcommand/runcommand.sh

The second runcommand.sh in Home folder is changeable.

I went back in "RetroPie Setup" and run "update script" and now everything is fine. It copied from home folder to opt folder.
I got the files from joolswills
I don't know why it was set 644.

@mitu Yeah, the Splash screen and menu aren't a huge deal, so I don't mind too much, I just wish I could figure it out. At this point I'm hoping it's resolved with a future update.

@superfromnd I got the game pre-patched initially, so a few minutes ago I decided to patch the original JP files using the tutorial from that website you linked. Each of the different checksums for the ISOs were the ones indicated and they patched with xDelta3 successfully. Loaded up the game and I still get crashes.

So I started thinking maybe the issue was to do with the files being split as .iso/.wav/.cue instead of a .CHD file or a .cue/.bin. I tried using Isobuster to convert it back to a bin/cue format and was able to launch the game but still got the same crash. I thought maybe I had done the process incorrectly so I found someone else's conversion to a .bin/.cue format and the game will still crash at the same point. I also found another person's version of the game in .CHD and yep, same crash.

the crash specifically happens at this point in the longplay above, where you examine the gun in this opening office segment. You can examine other bits like the cigarettes and the machine on the right, but clicking either the gun or the picture frame crashes it. I dunno what's going on with the saturn hardware wise, but it transitions into a still zoomed in image separate from the rest of the environment, and that's where the crash seems to trigger.

It's so frustrating that I can't really get any more information from yabasanshiro (I also don't seem to be able to get much from lr-yabause because it just hangs at the section as opposed to crashing outright).

I think lr-gearcoleco might be an emulator option in Retropie Setup.

Is there any advantage over the existing Colecovision emulators that would make it worth while adding it ?

Saves states seems to be more stable than Blue MSX. Better controller setup than BlueMSX (major point here).
It runs No Intro romset, what Fbneo doesn't.

    They say :
Accurate Z80 core, including undocumented opcodes and behavior like R and MEMPTR registers.
    Accurate TMS9918 emulation.
Sound emulation using a fine tuned Sms_Snd_Emu library.

At the end, I prefer Fbneo (but only fbneo romset can be used) and Lr-Gearcoleco is better than BlueMSX in my opinion.

Maybe a longer testing period is needed, but it could be in the experimental section for now.

aarch64 is an ARM 64 bit system (kernel), while arm7l is 32 bit ARM.

Can you convert from System: rpi4 (aarch64) to System: rpi4 (armv71)?

It depends. If you installed your system from the beta 64bit Raspberry Pi OS image, then no, you cannot convert. If you merely modified the /boot/config.txt file on a 32 bit Raspberry Pi OS and added the option to boot the 64bit kernel (arm_64bit=1), then you can remove that configuration line and you'll be booted back to a 32bit kernel/OS (arm7l).
