    I am new on these forums and am a new very pleased Retropie user. But I too have the same problem and I solved it just by unplugging and replugging the controller.

    Yes. I have it set up with a Wiimote and a Dolphinbar. You plug the Dolphinbar into the first USB port (top left), which is the Player 1 slot. Set the DolphinBar to Mode 2 and sync the Wiimote with the Dolphinbar (you have to press the Sync button on both at the same time). That's pretty much it.

    As for the games, the majority of the gun games I have are arcade games (Lethal Enforcers, Operation Wolf, etc), and just to separate everything from my regular arcade sets (Mame4All, FBA), I put all of my gun games into the Arcade folder, and set the default emulator for every game in that folder to AdvMame 1.4 (If you don't have it on your setup you may have to install it from the RetroPie menu). There is also now support for NES (Duck Hunt, etc), just make sure you have the default emulator for the gun games set to the lr-fceumm emulator, since it won't work in nestopia. Sadly, there is no console support for SMS or Genesis/Megadrive yet, as far as I know. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    @mitu - I was able to use mame4all which sees that roller correctly - very confusing how the retroarch cfg works..
    Example:
    To see the spinner for arkanoid I had to switch to mame4all and looking at the input shows J1 RetroPad -X and +X for the controls... I don't know how to map that here as the spinner doesn't provide anything like that in the mame config (tab) and when I edit the .cfg file I tried adding the following:
    input_player1_left_axis = "-0"
    input_player1_right_axis ="+0"

    with no luck... still unable to get the spinner working - howbeit the trackball works out of the box with mame4all.... lol

    Somebody needs to write up a config walkthrough for retroarch and that joystick system... greatly.

    One day I may look into getting a better ROM set.

    It's not that you really need a "better" ROM set, it's that you need the specific ROM set intended for the emulator that you're using. pifba might get you up and running in this one case and even a few more out of sheer coincidence, but with all the games that these arcade emulators support, you're going to run into incompatibilities pretty often without coordinating the ROM set versions to the right emulation software.

    @ramospa I have NO idea how I originally missed this post, but just wanted to update this to reflect that these instructions worked perfectly for me. It seems that after all this time, the cheats found on the Reddit thread in the OP were the right one, they just had to be entered in a format familiar to Retroarch. I found it easier to store the cheat file in /home/pi/RetroPie/cheats, but otherwise, 10/10, BRB playing this game at last!

    You can force a certain resolution in the /boot/config.txt. See Video issues in the docs.

    If you need help with this, which resolution do you want to set?

    Also, showing us your /boot/config.txt in a code block might help us helping you. See the Markdown reference how to make one.

    @charleandre RetroPie does not come with any button helpers installed, so there's no such file. I recommend you use @cyperghost's script, which supports multiple cases and power off methods - https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/17415/multi-switch-shutdown-script/.

    I found an issue with pcsx2 install on Ubuntu 18.04. Rather than photos, just providing the information in the link would have been a better first step as it can help pinpoint the cause.

    You will need to update the retropie-setup script then run this command from a terminal though to resolve the issue (assuming your problem is the same as the issue I found with sdl2 not switching back to the packaged version correctly).

    sudo ~/RetroPie-Setup/retropie_packages.sh sdl2 revert

    @jerryb said in Screen Orientation issues on my 'Coffee' Table....:

    Not sure I would use RetroArch for this. I would add a rom_name.zip.cfg file to the folder.

    the text of the file would be

    video_rotation = "2"

    This will rotate the screen 180 degrees. 1 would be 90 and 3 would be 270 degrees.

    so for your Pac-Man rom is nameed pacman.zip you would create a file called pacman.zip.cfg (txt file) with the above line added to it. (again this goes in the same folder as the rom)

    If you need more assistance you may want to add more detail about you build as mentioned here

    https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first

    Hope this helps.

    Tried your suggestion to no avail, but gone through RetroArch settings whilst in game...

    Main Menu->Settings->Video (set rotation to 180 degrees)
    Quick Menu->Configuration Override Option-> (Save Game Overrides)
    Exit back to game

    Sorted.

    Alss, you usually have to use the command in the RetroArch config otherwise MAME won't know to enable cheats

    mame2010-cheats = "enabled"

    for mame2003 :

    mame2003-cheats = "enabled"

    Cheats are optional, so are not enabled by default

    I've just checked my mame2010, the samples folder for mame2010 and the "history,dat" and "cheat.dat" are in

    /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS/mame2003/

    I had to build the current mame201o from the optional menu in RetroPie. Be warned it can take HOURS even on an overclocked PI3 and running from USB hard drive. I use the SD card purely to boot into OSMC KODI then control is passed over to the USB hard drive. Its much faster and saves wear on the SD card. I used RetroSMC script to install RetroPie onto the OSMC build, so everything runs off USB hard drive and it all works perfectly, including snapshots and gameplay videos

    Name it mysetup.img

    If that fails, put it on a filepath with no spaces.
