Just in case anyone is reading this thread I figure I should say that I was able to mount the RP mSD card in Ubuntu and copy roms over manually. Now to figure out how to get the scraped data over as well.

@Chillimonster I got this fixed on retropie 4.0. It needs to hex edit the driver file.

    wget http://sourceforge.net/projects/hte/files/ht-source/ht-2.1.0.tar.bz2
    tar -vxjf ht-2.1.0.tar.bz2
    cd cd ht-2.1.0
    sudo apt-get install libncurses5-dev libncursesw5-dev
    ./configure
    sudo make
    sudo make install

    sudo ht /lib/modules/4.4.13+/kernel/drivers/hid/hid-dr.ko
alt + L and select replace (Use tab key go to hex)

    09 30 09 33 09 32 09 31 09 34 (put in find field)

    09 30 09 31 09 32 09 33 09 34 (put in replace field)

Yes to confirm. Alt + F and select save. Alt + F select exit

    sudo ht /lib/modules/4.4.13-v7+/kernel/drivers/hid/hid-dr.ko
and do the same replace again

    rm /home/pi/.emulationstation/es_input.cfg

    reboot

    Redefine controllers in ES.

The only thing I can think of is that you enables the "parse gamelists only" option in ES which would make it ignore new roms (unless they have been scraped).

Perhaps the .sra file is made by one emulator and .srm by the other..I'll have to check tomorrow

Found the solution to this by uninstalling it from Retropie and terminal using cmd

    sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove kodi

and than installing latest using the following cmd

    sudo apt-get install software-properties-common
    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:team-xbmc/ppa
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get install kodi

everything as it should be now :)

@allenpie that's great I will send you a message at the weekend. If the Vm is Windows then it will run as for samba as long as you have read write permissions for set the directory as a network drive it will be fine. Hoping that you will be able to help fine tune the program as at the moment it's all done from my point of view! Thanks!

Oddly, I did not use the console for 2 days and once Alume I reconnected a joypad on port 1, the console asked me to redo the configuration of the controller as the first time and all works again as before, I tried to repeat a false manipulation to see if they come back and not worry, I do not understand. I just found a video to try to solve my problem, I put it there may be able to help someone :-)

    enjoy

tried to play super mario world and nothing showed up on the website

Keep in mind that you must use the same ROM version as the achievements creator used.

I saw a Cole48 there and it seems that you earned some achievements for Super Mario Bros and Tetris... So I'm considering it's working fine for you now, right? :-)

@marcosnils said in Joypad hotplug not working:

I believe it has nothing to do with the pad itself because it works perfect if I start retropie after the joypad has been plugged.

Do you have another joypad to check if this issue happens? I have USB and Bluetooth controllers and this kind of issue never happened (hotplug always works fine). I'm using RetroPie in my Raspberry Pi and in my Linux Mint (ubuntu based distro). I still suspecting of the XBox joypad driver and suggesting a reading on the wiki.

    In your retroarch.cfg add:

    video_smooth = true

That did the job for me, I didn't like the blocks at all. This will smooth it out and it will look pretty nice. Just try it out. BTW I'm playing on a 40 inch tv (Sony KDL-40EX500)

I think it's overriding the button config of the N64 controller. The most convenient way for me would be to get a second USB N64 controller.
