    @Pyjamarama thanks for confirming that. I thought it may have been an oversight on my behalf as the option appears to be there to remap. It woupdate be cool if this could be configured but I'm a bit of a noob ands wouldn't know where to start.

    @backstander, thank you for your reply!
    @mediamogul, thank you for your reply and the script provided.
    Although I don´t have a "full" folder, like the one you put on the path, a simple fix was enough.
    I don't have the two games available on 'Ports' (maybe because I commented the script line that was already there), every time I start Quake 3 I enter "Team Arena mode", but, if I want to play Quake 3 "normal" all I have to do is change that option on Team Arena menu.

    Sorry my bad english.

    @RomiBraman the release date should be there. Otherwise you are more than welcome to contribute to the database (www.screenscraper.fr)!

    There are many tricks with the UXS to change what media you get. Soon the v2 will be released with huge improvements (so I heard), and making those tricks easier to use.

    Yeah when watching a movie you don't want the clicky sounds. I just use my wireless Xbox 360 controller with custom mapping when using Kodi but I do have my clicky little wireless keyboard/touchpad beside me if I need to type something.

    I also have an Xbox 360 Chatpad (which plugs into the bottom of the Xbox 360 controller) but I could only get it to work in RetroPie when plugged into the wired Xbox 360 controllers and it also has that same clicky sounds and it is missing a lot of important buttons I need (like the Esc button).

    Final Decision.. I'm going to return this and see if I can find a POWERED USB2.0. I just tried one last thing:

    dwc_otg.speed=1 added to the /boot/cmdline.txt file

    This tells the Pi to run at the lowest possible bus speed. That means all the USB ports on the Pi are 1.1, the SD card slot/LAN/Wireless are all 12mpbs, and the whole system as a whole runs like it was built in the 90's. This worked, believe it or not. But the speed was too slow for my dongle to properly work. So that tells me, the keyboard is definitely 1.1 (it worked great with that low-speed) and the Xbox dongle requires at least 2.0. The green light came on to show it had power, and the Pi DID detect it, but data transmission was too slow for it to be useful.

    Somebody, PLEASE!!! What is a good USB hub that works? I basically know now that I need it to be USB2.0, and it has to be powered as the Pi can't send enough power through the hub.

    @laephis I had a issue were my tv would only use pal 50hz even when I ran a usa nes rom .... Hence I had stuttering and slowdown try a pal game see if that runs fine if so that's your issue. I had to change the .config to force my tv to find 60hz maybe this is the same issue.

    ^^^^^ issue solved I speak through my hoop

    Would a full-upgrade be safe or should I just do an upgrade?

    Thanks

    Sorry man. asking for Rom's is a big no no. All I can say is you need the Bios and the roms you want to play and both are super easy to find with google.

    I took a brake from trying to set up a full rom set and decided to focus on a few games that I wanted to play. I also decided to put all my NeoGeo games in the NeoGeo rom folder, still using FBA.

    FBA is still giving me issues with some games but by adding games a few at a time it more manageable to deal with. It also means that I end up with a list of games I might actually play.

    I'm sure I'll be posting more questions later but my first step should not be to ask. For example I cant get \ Dungeons & Dragons - shadow over mystara & Dungeons & Dragons - tower of doom are not working for me, but before I do I need to do some more reading on my own. Like do I need more bios, is my rom's missing HCD, or something else I'll probably be able to answer with a little reading on my part. Half of the fun of this hobby is in the learning.

    My advice is to Google first, next do some reading on the wiki and other documentation, then search this forum, and finally if you still can't find a solution then post your question.

    I see. So the Xbox dongle would in port 0, the nes in port 1, the DB9 connectors (if this works) in port 2, and the "rom drive" in port 3. Now, what about using a USB hub? I bought a 4-port hub to connect USB devices to (like keyboard, mouse, etc) via the cartridge slot. Should this be plugged into 0, and then the Xbox dongle plugged into that? Or would it make more sense to connect the rom drive to that and have it plugged into port 3? I found out the 4-port (usb powered) hub isn't powerful enough to supply power to my keyboard, so I'm going to the computer store tomorrow to buy a powered one, and was thinking a 7 port one would work nice. The kind with 4 on one side (available via the cartridge slot) and 3 "internal" that I can connect things like the NES ports too. I'm just trying to figure out the best way to do it.

    So is at all possible then the idea of having interchangeable controllers?

    @Rcs we have no clue what version of retropie, raspberry pi (also what version of pi) or pc or any of the other stuff that readme says you need to give us info on. If you give us something to start with then maybe someone can help. I would start by going into the file /boot/config.txt and removing the hashtag from the beginning of this line:

    #hdmi_drive=2

    So it looks like this:

    hdmi_drive=2

    Then save and exit and then reboot. If you are using a raspberry pi and you dont ftp into your pi then plug in a keyboard and hit f4 to get to the command line. Now type:

    Sudo nano /boot/config.txt

    Now scroll down and until you find the line that says:

    #hdmi_drive=2

    Then remove the hashtag so it looks like this:

    hdmi_drive=2

    Then save and exit by hitting "ctrl & x"at the same time then "y" to save. Then type

    sudo reboot

    in the command line. Also when in emulationstation hit your start button on your controller, go into sounds and change the volume from 77% to 100%.

    If that doesnt work then you need to give us more info on your setup just like that "read this first" link tells you what all info we need.
