Snatcher on the Sega CD takes place over Christmas as well. Although it only plays a minor but very fun role in the game

@Shadow666 Everything runs slowly and the sound is very choppy with recalbox? Surely it can't be throttling the cpu

What games are you running? Everything runs great bar N64 atm with the 9.2 release on the site. If you have a patreon account you can get the latest beta where n64 runs better. They even have killer instint arcade version at full speed with Mame 2003.

I tested fbneo and they seem to be running a very old core, they are missing a lot of features which are on the official build.

Recalbox support seems to be focused on French which is a pain as it is not a language I am good at.

@Unknown All good. I should have been more specific, as this is a relative new and unknown feature on Yuzu. @mitu explained it a bit already. Currently Yuzu does what basically every emulator does and emulates the CPU in its entirety. That is very slow and the reason why we need powerful and modern computers to do this. Now the CPU on Switch is an ARM architecture and is very similar to what you find in an Android phone. What they can do is, instead emulating every CPU command, they can utilize what's already there and run parts of it native. They also call it "Project NICE" (not sure where the i comes from in NCE, but it sounds nice).

Here is my question: Does this apply to Raspberry Pi 5 with Linux as well or is it limited to Android devices? I don't know if these ARM architectures are similar enough. EDIT: I just looked up specs and the Switch CPU is an "ARM 4 Cortex-A57" and the Raspberry Pi 5 has an "Arm Cortex A76".

@RetroFreak89 I know this is a little late to the party - but there is a program called Exult, which is a recreation of the game engine that Ultima VII used - and there's a linux version of the source.

I haven't personally tried to build this on a Pi, but....

In theory, it could be done, and you could have a more 'native' running version.

I used Exult's windows builds many moons ago, and they were pretty stellar for usability and such. Many bugs were fixed, more modern systems are obviously supported, etc.

If all you want to do is play the game - this is a good way to go.

If you absolutely must have the original exe - then dosbox is likely the best way to go - maybe specfiically "dosbox pure".

Either way, google will get you to Exult or DosBox Pure..

      Good luck, avatar!

Depends on the light gun setup I suppose. It is a niche extra, for example I use a dolphin bar with a wiimote, that's presumably a very different setup process to the sinden light gun

Has anyone noticed that Ocarina of Time Master Quest has the slow menu bug that the Vanilla Ocarina of Time used to have on lr-mupen64plus-next? Weirdly though the gliden64.custom.ini and mupen64plus.ini file doesn't have Ocarina of Time specific settings

How about we wait until the Pi5 is out, ok ? If you want to speculate, use the main Pi5 topic that's pinned.

@mitu I watched Jeff's video on the Pi5 and it looked to me like he could not get any PCI graphics card to work (yet) with the Pi5.

Hence my saying but weren't more succesful until now, having in mind that Pi5 support in Linux kernel is still early and things could change later on.

      @DTEAM

I switched to lr-picodrive for SMS/GG/Genesis/Sega CD/32x a few years ago when there was some kind of breakthrough on the devs' part in terms of accuracy and compatibility, even on my x86 machines.

The speed of the thing is incredible (It can run Sega CD games full speed on a Pi Zero W!) and the accuracy is also good. It even emulates weirder things like the YM2413 synth chip the Japanese SMS had.
