Running was working but I had to load the game individually, ie, if I create a PlayList from a folder and scan it, 'ddp3' doesn't get added to that playlist (like if it's not recognized due to a different CRC32 value I guess). Not sure if how that could get officially fix so that it's recognized when creating Playlists.

Yes, i don't know if retropie updated its binaries since those improvements.

I am looking at X-Men 6 Player now.

@barbudreadmon ding ding, thank you, I did not know about the parent rom. It works. Although I don't think this was on the NeoGeo system until 2 and 3 came out.

Just for another subjective opinion, I'm content with MAME 2003-Plus (in arcade) and FB Neo (in fba) next to each other and see no need to change that after moving to a Pi 4.

For more recent MAME versions, I have my bigger computers. But I didn't feel the need for that for over two years now.

In RetroPie, the NeoGeo system is separate, so you can copy the NeoGeo romset collection to the neogeo folder and the arcade only romset to arcade.
You can combine them if you want, but you might want to keep neogeo separate just in case you'd want a different configuration applied to it (see this post for an example of why you'd want that).

thank you @barbudreadmon , i had made the leap of faith that since, for example, Xain'd Sleena had an entry in the file it was supported. I'll retry 1942...

Appreciate the confirmation.I'll just have to keep grabbing a save state until some support hopefully comes! If i had the ability I'd look into how to do it myself...

@cosmic-bunny 3rd party-images are not supported here.
You have two options:

install the official image from here on your SD-Card, then we can give you support. ask VirtualMan for support.

@TheBlueBanner could you try again when running in verbose mode? it's an option in the runcommand when launching

@barbudreadmon More weirdness: I normally only use the arcade folder, so as a test I copied the rom from there to my fba folder and it worked as intended. I then moved it back to the arcade folder and it now works as it should... So problem solved, I guess.
