      @atexplosion delete old gamelist.xml and rescrape. It's a bad ide to keep the old gamelist when doing a new scan.

      @VTHokiEE
      I think it depends on which emulator made those save files. Like if you did a save state with lr-vba-next and try to load it with lr-gpsp, it will not work but go back to lr-vba-next and it can read them again.

      Well for the GBC all you need to do is to drag n drop the roms into the rom folder of GBC.

      As for MAME. Well, you need to know which emulator you're going to use and you need that romset, lets say the romset is something like the version of the roms.

      I can recommend you to use the lr-fbalpha emulator, this requires the 0.175 romset. if you can find this romset and download the games you're fine, all you have to do then is drag n drop the mame roms to the FBA roms folder and you're ready.

      However, if you find a different romset you need to "upgrade" this romset to the romset the emulator is supporting. You can do this with a program named clrmamepro.

      Here is how I did it the quickest way, just check this page:

      https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/Managing-ROMs

      See which romset is needed for the emulator you're going to use, like for an example "fba 0.2.97.39" Just add the two magic words one starts with a "D" and the second starts with a "R". Use Google for this. There is one site it's name starts with an "A" and ends on ".org". Well I said to much now... Good luck!

      @Yamt The only thing you need to watch out for with those ili9431 screens is the pcb overhang at the ends. If you measure the distance from the end of the screen to the start of the buttons, you will see what i mean. There are ways round this of course, you can unsolder the pins and use cables to free up some space, also the screen is attached to the PCB with 2 strips of tape. once these are detached, you can actually place the screen and PCB separately (although they are still attached by a ribbon cable). For the final trick, if unsolder the sd card socket, and carefully follow the lines on the PCB, you can actually chop away at least half of the board, making it easier to fit inside the case

      You need to exit gpsp from the menu with "Exit gpSP" after configuring controls, not by pressing exit etc.

      This is of course documented in the wiki. https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/game-boy-advance#gpsp

      Thanks a lot! You are right, this is indeed a workaround and not a solution. But I am glad that I am able to play it again (hoping there's no more hidden crashes later in the game!)

      ZIP files cause headaches on some emulators that may or may not support the specific ZIP format that archive is in, so to avoid any ZIP issues I have unzipped ALL archives so that the ROM is there for the emulator to load without having to spend extra time extracting the ZIP archive to a temporary file then loading that. This all causes emulator slowdowns, even just a small one it all adds up, plus if you're using purely an SD card or USB pendrive to run everything from it will be even slower. Also an increased risk or SD card corruption with all those read/writes on an SD card

      The only archives I leave alone are the arcade ones, these MUST be left zipped or WILL fail. MAME, FBA and NEOGEO are the main 3

      I use OSMC with KODI and RetroPie so have it run everything from an external USB hard drive, the only function the SD card performs is booting the PI 3 B I use at the moment then control is passed onto OSMC which runs off the USB hard drive so being much faster and much less chance of SD card corruption. I know thats not possible for everybody especially if you have a portable RetroPie in a handheld where space is very limited

      @dhlee20 said in How to load Retropie games in full screen with no black parts...:

      I bought a 2.8 inch 320x240 PiTFT display for the PiGRRL 2 project from Adafruit.

      When I load GBA games in Retropie, there are about 5mm of distance from the end of the screen in both sides.

      Can you guys tell me how to load the game in full screen? (whole screen with no black parts)

      <config.txt settings>

      #framebuffer_width=320
      #framebuffer_height=240

      #sdtv_mode=2
      #sdtv_aspect=3

      0_1476526536538_그림1.png

      Remove the # symbol from config.txt in these lines:

      #framebuffer_width=320
      #framebuffer_height=240

      See if that helps.
