      Seems like RetroPie... I think the guy took it, added the rest to it and uploaded to share.

      My arcade build got derailed temporarily, and was split between using a Pi or a PC based system... had lots done on it and files etc, but never got everything working quite right.

      Niece was really interested in it though and likes the old NES/SNES games so, figured for Xmas I'd get one of those NesPi cases and a 16GB card and well, time's a factor so hoped the 16GB Mad Little Pixel image would be better than what I accomplished on my own, but, seems to be a pain in the @$$. :D

      That said, attract mode works... though not sure I like it more than the standard RetroPie/ES screen. Has sound and video... but also lag and takes longer to scroll through stuff.

      I'll give those a try when I get home. Hopefully a quick fix. :)

      @sammylj Hmm. That escape exit situation sounds like you still have hotkeys enabled. Scan through your retroarch.cfg for hotkey and set it to "nul" or comment out the setting. I am running with a dedicated exit (escape) and I don't need to press anything else, just my single exit button.

      to answer your second question, i've had good results with this shader set: https://github.com/aybe/RetroArch-shaders

      just grab the .glsl & .glslp files for the ones you want and drop them in ~/.config/retroarch/shaders

      No, I hadn't used the -mame=true command, I must have missed that one.

      The Wiki page has an outdated parameters list. You can list the current parameters by running the command

      @mrmarblz The trackball will need an interface board. Some arcade trackballs are sold without that, so be sure you have a solution for it or add on the interface if you have that option. The controller board will accept the wires from the trackball and will connect to the Pi via USB and should appear as a mouse to the Pi. Same with each light gun. If your table is wired with AC power your USB hubs can be powered and plugged into AC inside the table, so you can add as many hubs as you need.

      If the Servostik is just a USB device, it gets 5 volts that way. The current draw would be as much as any gamepad plus maybe more while the server is engaged. Why would this be a problem

      I would definitely use a powered USB hub for all of these devices, as you don't want the power to come from the Pi's AC/DC adapter. You don't want the Pi to have power issues because of all of the peripherals attached, and powered hub(s) should take care of that.

      In order for the removable arcade controls to connect via USB, they will need to be wired internally to some kind of interface. There may be good choices for this, but a cheap option might be to hack four gamepad controllers and just wire your controls to the buttons etc.

      This is an ambitious project. Check out my 4 player cocktail system. Mine is a bit simpler, but I had different challenges. My only question for you is: Why, no spinners?

      @thebear123 Yes. It very much matters in MAME. The emulator is looking for a specific ROM name as MAME ROMs have a standard naming convention.

      I have a thread about a similar topic. I went through and sorted most of the games that work better in MAME 2003/2010 vs. FBA vs. AdvanceMAME3.X. I posted lists of the rom names for each folder. I do not use the arcade folder. I believe I also posted my BIOS folder contents. I also have some other tips in that thread.

      @thomen Normally, I would suggest checking RUNCOMMAND, but you mentioned you are using Attract Mode. I would have expected Attract Mode you to be explicit about which emulator gets used, meaning, you would know what emulator because you had to set it up that way.

      Perhaps someone more familiar with Attract Mode can add a better answer.

      Figured out how to do it indirectly.

      In \retropie\configs\all\emulationstation\es_systems.cfg
      <system>
      <name>mame-mame4all</name>
      <fullname>Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator</fullname>
      <path>/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/mame-mame4all/roms</path>
      <extension>.zip .ZIP</extension>
      <command>/opt/retropie/supplementary/runcommand/runcommand.sh 0 SYS mame-mame4all %ROM%</command>
      <platform>arcade</platform>
      <theme>mame-mame4all</theme>
      </system>

      In \retropie\configs\mame-mame4all\mame.cfg
      rompath=/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/mame-mame4all
      samplepath=/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/mame-mame4all/samples

      Put all game zips in /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/mame-mame4all/
      Duplicate empty zero byte zip file names under /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/mame-mame4all/roms to generate the menu in subdirs.

      This also fixes issue where sample.zips shows up in emulation station menu.

      @siliconpi Can you post the complete verbose log on a site like pastebin.com to look at it ?
      Can you run zipinfo /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/mame-libretro/mame2003/roms/19xxh.zip from a terminal/ssh session to see if the zip ROM is accesible on the mountpoint ?
      Can you try adding forceuid=1000,forcegid=1000,rw to the mount options, just to make sure the permissions are set ok ?

      I was just trying a few games at random tonight and came across Gunbird 2 - it's quite similar to Lightning Fighters (bullet hell vertical shooter) but is better executed all round.

      I'd never seen this (or the original Gunbird) before, I'm guessing perhaps they only appeared in Japan?

      Anyway, for fans of these types of games, I recommend trying out Gunbird 2. Runs really nicely on a Rpi 3.

      @edmaul69

      Actually since I am playing with lib cores then there is no mame tab (ex. Xmen: The Arcade) as all the controls are from retroarch. So my question should be "how can I keep user 1 from controlling user 4 and vice versa". The keys for user 1 is only binded to controller buttons and user 4 is just keyboard buttons but for some reason I can still control both players (P1 and P4) at the same time on the keyboard. Is it by default that keyboard P1 and joystick P1 are always binded to player 1, like it's hard-coded?

      Edit:
      I wonder if it has to do with user 4 not having a device index (set to N/A "Port #3")

      Edit #2:
      Okay nevermind it's solved now. I somehow unbinded the tab key so I couldn't get the mame menu to appear. So I deleted the "default.cfg" file from "/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/mame-libretro/mame2003/cfg" to reset it back to defaults.

      Once I was able to bring up the mame tab (menu) then I was able to fix my issue by assigning keys to a keyboard button that I would never use (ex. F12). So for each player I made sure it was only binded to the specific controller button or keyboard button. Player 4 was called retropad 4 as well (keyboard only).
