@herb_fargus I was just thinking out of the box, cause he said that his gamelist.xml is a nightmare. If he gets the log way, he will need to play all the games to fill the txt. This could take a lot of time with his 10k gamelist.

@aphex Most of the games it labeled the same in my SNES folder aren't even related to the series lol.

@bjwest When you add a path to a library within Kodi you can select the Use Local Data only option and enable the checkbox to Look for Movies in their own folder. Thats pretty much it for setting Kodi up.
If you use tinyMediaManager to scrape all your Movies/Series beforehand, you can/must also use it to batch rename the files (which can also put them into separate folders).
That means, if you have a lot of files it might take a while to get all the data.

Great. I think you need to edit the first post and turn it into a question.

But i didnt used the scraper function at all .
I used an image to install retropie with roms and everything .
Start it up and all info and images are there next to the games .

I add 3 psx games with my usb stick , restart retropie and all the images and info are gone next to the games . Only the gamelist is there .

Without using scraper for those 3 psx games i added .

Hopefully in the future ES gets an upgrade that fixes this or the guys making skins for us can find a workaround for this.

Thanks so much for your patience, this obviously did the trick. What I did is put that command in /opt/retropie/configs/all/autostart.sh, before emulationstation is called (otherwise the games didn't show up in ES because the USB wasn't yet properly mounted). It's still unclear to me why games can be accessed via symlink in ES, but the parser cannot access them. Oh well, the workaround works, and I hope future Googlers will find it easily. Phew!

Pretty weird indeed. I re-imaged with the backup before I installed and this display issue still persists.

Any thoughts?

@Jeck11 It was a while ago, so I don't remember enough. As such, I'm not sure I'd go as far as saying "any" theme, but it wasn't particularly hard, no. I suspect it depends on how modularized the theme files are (i.e. if you have to add the icons to each of the system files, it can be a pain, where if it's all centralized in the theme.xml file, then it's fairly easy).

It's critical to update the XML version in the theme xml files, though, otherwise it won't be recognized no matter what you do :)

I'm happy to try and share my versions of the themes, if it helps. Let me know.

I just discovered this, judging from the screenshots this is exactly what i've been looking for. retropie doesn't support php5 anymore.
I installed php7 + sql3 manually (edited the install script to not check for php5 dependencies) but it doesn't seem to work. no files are inside /www. anyone can help?
