I tried adding this after I did a fresh install of the "retropie-buster-4.6-rpi2_rpi3" image... it won't load. I configured my wifi...is it the new build that needs an updated script?
@jurassicplayer Hi, it worked fantastic!! Congrats and thanks!! The only issue I found so far has to do with some mp3 files which are played much slower than they should, Maybe I would need to try different mp3 formats but you did an excellent job. None of the other scripts worked for me because of the video previews I use in roms, your script is the only one that fits my build. I only need to figure out how to correct the slow mp3 files issue, in fact if you could implement a method to change music depending on what system is being played as in some Recalbox Themes, it would be perfect, Cheers
I'm fairly certain that most of the Disney tie-in games had chiptune versions of the music. I don't really have time to look up which songs charted right now but there's a lot of games that fall into that category.
@hooperre dont know if it works with ports, my retropie version is latest 4.5.1 latest setup-script and runs on linux Xubuntu 18.04LTS.
btw, this is exact how it worked on my linux pc
its exact what i did to get music in the menus,
maybe do not forget to install mpg123 from synaptic package manager
@Protocultor
Protocultor for President :D
Thank you very much, it works. Now the only thing left I need to know is, can you change the deadzone amount of the left analog stick somewhere? I know you can change it in the option for ingame movements but it doesen't apply for the menu navigation and when I move up and down it often register a left or right movement and messing up my settings.
UPDATE: Nevermind I found the settings in the config folder inside zdoom.ini
@PJ7 Not really possible at the moment, because the music is not part of Emulationstation. In the future, it might be possible by adding a script for the 'sleep' /'screensaver-start' event in Emulationstation that would stop the music.
Hey guys, yes I like that one too thanks @Stuart2773 but it sounds too much like the snes classic menu as I have the original on my Nintendo build already. I do like the one @Clyde posted but only like the start of it, I might have a play and crop and loop before it all starts going crazy haha.
