@cyperghost Thanks. I wound up putting the files in a sub-folder of my /home/pi/ folder because, as you said, my roms folder is on a USB drive. Unfortunately, I still couldn't get it to work. Effectively, I had the same error messages. It's a bit of a pity, but I wonder whether any progress has been made on the porting of it in the meantime by @toto2000.

@IanDaemon The Streets of Rage PAK works well. The Ghouls and Ghosts PAK is a fun Beat 'em Up remake. The X-Men PAK is sort of a rough version of the arcade game.

Update on windows testing: latest Dolphin version slightly improves performance (option to use multiple cores seems to help).
P.N.03 and Gauntlet Dark Legacy at 2xIR (720p) without any noticeable slowdown.

How does the original arcade version of GDL run?

Very nice! I have a v1 myself, so I'll have to do a bit of soldering for this, but it definitely looks worth the effort. Then again, I may just buy a v2. I'm still training off and on in NES 'Tetris'. I went back to the drawing board with some new building strats and while I still haven't cracked 400K yet, I can reliably break 100K on most attempts and 200-300K+ somewhat frequently. The new play style and the speed in higher levels tops me out fairly fast at the moment, but I figure once it becomes routine, 400K+ won't be far behind. Again, those pics are great. Be sure to post back if you can as things progress. It's really nice to see this little guy getting some love.

    Or is this new?

Not quite, I just added the tag recently.

If so, then congrats! It's well deserved!

    Thanks.

@obscuredbyclouds I tested lr-4do on my overclocked 3b+. I tested out road rash, and with threaded dsp enabled the game came very close to being playable. Still a bit slow to be enjoyable but the fmv cut scenes and menus were full speed and loading times were fine. In game I was getting anywhere from 35-50 fps. Other less demanding games might actually run ok but I didnt test beyond road rash since I don't have a big interest in the 3do system.

@quicksilver I'll give it a shot, thanks! Only played the red one briefly to see how the game went.

AdvMame works well for it so I'm sticking with it. Thanks for the tip and a happy Saturday!

Emulationstation accepts the --screensize <width> <height> parameters so it might work to start it in a viewport without mocking with the overscan bands on the display. This, in combination with the RetroArch viewport settings, might enable you to run everything in a custom viewport.
Of course, you might have trouble with console script (i.e RetroPie Setup or any other scripts) and with non-Libretro emulators.

EDIT: you might need to also add --screenoffset <offsetX> <offsetY> in addition to --screensize to position the viewport.

did you mean to paste something? also I wouldn't pay too much attention to the "All Arcade ROMS Compatibility list" sheet as it has very limited data. the most compatible MAME/FBAs for each raspberry pi hardware are well documented.

@simpleethat I tried it a few times to try and get to the memory card manager, I didn't even realize that it was because of an .m3u. I always turn it off, like its a big no, or I'm in a hurry to boot my game. And now I'm kind of interested, with the same interest that we get when we first turn on our playstations. I'll leave it on and see what I find.

I half remember the playstation bios telling you what bios you're using but, I must have imagined it as all I ever see is PCSXtm.

On my Raspberry pi 2, the BIOS screen was difficult to get the sound perfect without any drops. I spent a while changing the audio freq, but then overclocking almost got it to perfect.

Random: If you leave Final Fantasy IX on for over 99.59.59 then the clock resets and changes color, mine was red, I don't know what impact this has on the game.

@Efriim Another reason for me to not use the auto save is that one function of my DIY cabinet is to entertain my guests, and for that the games should start normally at their title screen, not somewhere I or others left them. But in general I like it that there is such a feature. 👍

@mitu said in PS1 Silent Hill 1 SRM files - need help!:

@bolski Gamefaqs site has a few save files - https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps/198641-silent-hill/saves - maybe one of them might help you. They're .gme files, which you can convert to .srm with a little utility - https://github.com/recalbox/recalbox-os/wiki/gme-to-srm-(EN).

Thanks @mitu! I'll take a look. As it is, I started over anyways. Going back and grabbing as much health and bullets as possible and just running like mad.

@BillyH the Monkey Island games by far are my favorite. Along with some of the older Sierra games. I grew up playing the King’s Quest series and have a soft spot for those old point and click adventure games.

I have sent the PR. The patch is a kind of "quick and dirty" I am not sure how much can fit into a good libretro baseline (please see the commits comments)

Thanks for the tips! I also found this https://www.arcade-museum.com

They have an advanced search that's really helpful. Just don't look for games in the "arcade" category use "videogame" instead.
