It works very slowly. You will not be able to get a good gaming experience. Try with 1942.

    Hello,

Is this ok in 2025 ?

I want to buy a Dualsense for my Retropie-4.8.9 Bookworm Lite on Pi5 and I want to know if it works today, or if tricks are needed to connect a dualsense in bluetooth.

    Thanks

Opposing Force start but I'am alone in the training boot camp. Seems like some scripts are broken, the ship that should crash during intro doesn't crash and fly to infinty and beyond.

Is this a new bug, or is it a known issue that has existed since the beginning ? Can it be fixed ?

It was a pain to start Blue Shift with unlocked maps. The linked patch doesn't exist anymore, and others doesn't work. The only solution is to find pre-patched maps pack.

With this Blue Shift can start :

@alaskajohn I have created a file and placed it in the folder .rom so each file appears as if it is a game e.g. 80s 902 etc. It's been a while since I've made it, if it's difficult for you, I can look something up, I'll remember it too, if you manage the internet radio, I'd be interested.

@BuZz I greatly appreciate the support RetroPie has received, but it feels somewhat abandoned as many have shifted to other projects like Batocera. Many contributions, such as improving EmulationStation's support for multiple languages, were not accepted. This, along with the absence of a Discord server, has led to frustration. I understand the project’s focus, but these issues have made it harder to continue contributing. No offense intended."

So hate to resurrect a two year old thread.. but my original lr-mame mod for mortal kombat plus seem too old now (5 years now) giving segmentation faults.

So I built new ones based on the newest build lr_mame 0.237. These were built on Ubuntu 22.04
but might work on pie's if anyone wants to try them..

mkp_mamearcade_libretro.so is for Mortal Kombat Plus
umk3p_mamearcade_libretro.so is for Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 Plus

Just copy them both into /opt/retropie/libretrocores/lr-mame

Be sure to adjust your configs/mame-libretro/ emulators.cfg like so:

    mkplus-mame = "/opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/bin/retroarch -L /opt/retropie/libretrocores/lr-mame/mkp_mamearcade_libretro.so --config /opt/retropie/configs/mame-libretro/retroarch.cfg %ROM%" umk3plus-mame = "/opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/bin/retroarch -L /opt/retropie/libretrocores/lr-mame/umk3p_mamearcade_libretro.so --config /opt/retropie/configs/mame-libretro/retroarch.cfg %ROM%"

Then set the emulators in run command.

They use the original rom zip names so change your plus roms to:

    mk.zip and umk3.zip

You'll be overwriting the original roms if you care..

So like, I can put diesel in my snowmobile? - Not sure I'd do that, but sure.

What means "adapter that works with anything"? What means? Going to guess you mean, "what does this mean?" The point was the adapter support just about every wired controller. Here is a active list.

Can I fry chips in leftover cereal milk?
Pretty sure you can't, milk has the same boiling point as water. Best to stick with oil.

Is this an ad? I guess, Just spreading the new for those interested.

@retropieuser555 said in [Tutorial] Installing Munt (MT-32 emulation) on RPi 3:

    c++: error: unrecognized command-line option ‘-mfpu=neon-fp-armv8’
    c++: error: unrecognized command-line option ‘-mfloat-abi=hard’

Are you on a 64bit system ? The flags above are not supported on aarch64 - remove them from the C/CXX-FLAGS.

Thank you all for the feedback, I'll probably go with a Pi 4 and retropie.

@oldskoolgamerz As said, we don't offer support for other images. Start with https://retropie.org.uk/download if you wish to get support here in the forums. Topic closed.

@mitu well I installed Steam through pi-apps, and I believe it installs box64 with Steam but when I was testing my theory I installed it for good measure together with wine and box86. Shotgun approach and all that, and I need wine for OpenBor and Mugen games.

But what initally happened was that if I installed Steam after RetroPie, Steam wouldn't finish the last installation step, when it asks to install a bunch of dependencies and then fails. So when I install Steam before Retropie, comment out the contents of sdl1.sh, sdl2.sh, and sdl12-compat.sh, (making sure all dependencies are met) and install RetroPie, it seems to use the system's sdl libraries to build things. So far everything's working as expected. Yeah, I see what you mean about using a translation layer. I'm ok with that. I can play TMNT Shredder's Revenge and a few others just fine.

Yeah, had no issues with Steamlink. Installed it and it worked right out of the box which is nice to have for games unwilling to run locally!

@dult-np ok I actually managed to compile but no rom would go past a black screen unfortunately. I guess we'll still have to stick to AetherSX2

I'm locking this topic, it has become a dumpster for any issue or question related to the Pi5 or the new RasiOS Bookworm.release.

@Jiryn feel free to open a separate topic for your question.

Just messing around with lr-vjag last night and it does appear that some games are running amazing! One question... I noticed that Tempest will throw odd glitches here and there...

No glitch on my side with lr-vjag. I'm running tempst2k.zip (from MAME Romset) with the default settings and Vulkan

My question... Is it possible to do a similar thing for retropie?

Not without creating a new game, which is what Nintendo did.

I am not sure what to suggest, a Pi4 with 2GB would have been my answer in pre Pi5 times... and still, the Pi4 runs an official image, but the pi5 ain't such a newcomer nowadays and the official image is still based on (IIRC) buster and since then, even before the Pi5 was released, the discussions where about when there will be a "bullseye" image and whether it will be 64bit/32bit or still in support of 32bit ... sigh...

So the official image is missing debian 11, the 64 vs. and or 32 bit problematic still unsolved and now with the pi5 we are over the edge to 64bit and on bookworm as the current debian/raspi OS base...

I would say, it depends... if you want to play straight ahead and use the existing image, go for a pi4 with whatever mem you may need to reuse it after upgrading retropie to a newer device (for retropie on a RP4 2GB is IMHO more then enough, if you want to use it as a terraria or minecraft server afterwards, at least 4GB better 8 would be the way to go).

But if you are totally new to raspis and retropie... well, bad timing, if you simply can afford it, go for the above mentioned route of the pi4 and learn some *nix basics ... but be assured that all you learn for the nowadays official buster based image is void for the next official one, because too much on the underlying OS was changed (just to add a match of buzzword: config.txt vs. cmdline.txt) - if you are willing to experiment and learn on raspberry pi/*nix in general in the meantime, go for a pi5 with the memory you can afford!
