No, that's not supported by RetroPie's EmulationStation fork.

To use current flycast i suppose you'd just need to replace the lr-flycast.sh script currently bundled in retropie setup by this this one .

BINGO.... I figured this out and was just coming back to say thanks for the SDL tip again. For the record, I added the env variable to "/etc/environment" to make it a system wide change.

I was able to convert my .srm save file from lr-mupen64plus-next to an .sra file with this online tool.

I then copied the .sra file into /opt/retropie/configs/n64/mupen64plus/save/

Then I launched ocarina of time with mupen64plus-GLideN64 and played it nonstop for about 2 hours without any crashes or major issues. GLideN64 may have had a few more video glitches than lr-mupen64plus-next was having, but not a single crash for that entire period of time, and that was picking up the game where I left off playing with lr-mupen64plus-next.

So it seems that I don't have these crashes with standalone emulators, but do with libretro emulators.

I'm not sure why this topic is in 'Help & Support' and what's the connection to RetroPie ?

My goal is for my friend to be able to turn on his headphones and connect much like the 8bitdo is allowing me to with the controller.

Then you need to pair & trust the headphones BT first (via bluetoothctl), just like the gamepad was paired with the RetroPie Bluetooth script.

'm confused if the above lines are related to the adapter, why would it be referred to as retropie?

It's the 'local' BT adapter and the name is taken from the hostname of the system, that's why it shows as 'retropie'. Controller is also a mis-nomer, it refers to the BT local device, not the gamepad you have connected.

Can you switch the stick into XInput mode, instead of PS3 mode ?

Yes, I manually edit the gamelist files all the time to add games not picked-up by scrappers and to add missing artwork. Other than bad formed .xml formatting I never had any similar errors. Running with the --debug parameter fails to produce a .log file. I think that is since I have to kill the process in order to exit? I found the es_log.txt. It is the same as the pastebin link I posted earlier which doesn't seem to indicate the missing path.
