I can't speak to the hotspot issue, but having a web browser of some sort on the Pi for connecting to hotel openwifi will also work. Without the browser, you'll be at the mercy of calling whatever in house tech support they may have to relay your Pi's MAC address personally. Something as simple as Lynx will do.

I had a similar issue with PiSnes where it just wouldn't save. I finally tracked it down to file permissions. The write was being blocked but I couldn't find any logs or any information to indicate it. chmod 777 on the srm file and I think it's working fine now.

Edit 1: I just did a quick test and new save games are being created without proper permissions so after the first autosave, or save after quitting it will fail to continue saving.

Edit 2: In my case it's because I mounted my games on a network share and the samba configuration wasn't right. Following this did the trick:

I ran into this the other day. After some googling it turns out the default input configuration is for xbox controllers which did't work for me (using 8bitdo).

You need to edit /opt/retropie/emulators/pisnes/snes9x.cfg and manually configure the inputs. You can test your controller to get the right numbers using

jstest /dev/input/js0

To reduce conflicts I set the values for QUIT,ACCEL,QLOAD,QSAVE, and LEFT,RIGHT,UP,DOWN 1 and 2 to numbers around 100.

I updated the wiki with md5sum & CRC32 for the various BIOS files that I have found. I'm not sure if all of them work (haven't tested them all).

@BuZz Thank you Buzz. I actually just figured it out by gaining access to Retroarch's quick menu using the in-game hotkey, then fiddling around in there till I found something mentioning Bios.

But anyway, everything works now, except for reicast. But thank you all the same.

click / double click the ".." entry and keep doing that until you are at "/" then goto /home/pi/Retropie/roms/amiga there you'll see your roms.

you can also edit the main config to use that location directory or type it in the editbox above.

the script i used to generate uae files had support for multi disk image and loads them automatically.

@jonesyp it's already fixed if you update retropie-setup and reinstall vice. (or just do update all packages).

If you are talking about the filenames then Yes you can rename them and they should still play. As long as you don't rename the extension, everything should be fine.

I have my ps3 controller connected into my ubuntu box with Retropie installed and I cannot map the ps3 controller in emulationstation. I am trying to use the script you wrote but when I type "sudo ./retropie_packages.sh sdl2" I get the message "No module 'sdl2' found for platform x86. Any ideas?
