The themes included in RetroPie can be installed using the RetroPie setup script, choose Es-Theme in the RetroPie system from Emulationstation. If the theme is not available in that module, then you can copy the theme folder (distributed by the author) in one of the following locations on the Pi:

/etc/emulation/themes (needs root access and it's available through SFTP/SSH) /home/pi/.emulationstation/themes - also accessible via file shares (Samba) at \\retropie\configs\all\emulationstation\themes

I'm running an UP Core board with pretty much the same specs and it runs really well. I'm able to use pretty much all the lag reducing features (including runahead of 3 frames) on 8 and 16 bit consoles with no issues.

Getting the audio to work is a bit tricky, but check out "linuxium" blog that had excellent instructions on how to get it working

@mitu It's possible but I think it was my installation of lr-pcsx-rearmed because I had another psx game crash on me which now works fine since updating it.

@mitu said in Installed RetroPie 4.4.1 on my build and Retroarch.cfg looks different?:

The global retroarch.cfg has more than 21 lines. There should be a retroarch.cfg.rp-dist alonside, that is the default on 1st install. Copy that file over retroarch.cfg and it should be fine.

Okay cool thanks, wonder where this other file came from and what all the extra configs do! I may have to keep this file to play with.

To anyone else who might come across this. I was able to fix this by updating the emulator from source. This added core options for different controller layouts and an adjustable analog deadzone.

No, no, I get it. I wanted the optional emulator anyway but the problem is clearly with the roms/images and not with the emulator. I appreciate the kick in the right direction.

I was pretty sure I installed the supergrafx emulator but it wasn't showing up when I was selecting it in the list. After installing it manually from the source it came up as selectable and showed the problem was not emulator related.

@rsn8887 there is a way to set systems that way. I do it manually in the retroarch.cfg for each system but there is an easier and technically correct way to do it but i dont know how so hopefully someone can tell you.

    I've used everything.
SSelph is fantastic but has limits, no way to scrape computer systems, horrible snaps for Arcade with all the filters, they are not those you get with other programs and same source. Overall great and fast for console.
UXML scraper is very good but incredibly slow on server. Work only on Win.
Skyscraper, i don't get much the hype, it's good and you can run from Pi terminal, so is slightly fast (not much) and give some very quality snaps (i don't like the cover mix layout), but he missed roms often.
Skraper - Very very good, it's fast but got some problems with some formats, like pbp (very slow), some miss here also, but generally is accurate, and great snaps (those you get around on pre made packs and images, mostly), works only on Win.
Internal scraper - It's pretty horrible, unstable, very low accurate, everyone hate it, but is functional and easily will get the spot, as long the filename is very true to original. Lot of errors - I prefer wrong snap than empty space - i don't recommend folder and overall scraping, very, VERY fast after last update. I would keep it as a last resort, but it has its advantages.

Use @meleu's joystick selections script, it allows you to choose the (player) order of the joysticks per core/system. But if you're DragonRise controllers are always USB connected, they'll probably always be js0 and js1, so I guess you can use the RetroArch gui and choose that player1/2 and joysticks on 3rd and 4th position and save the the core remapping.
For N64 though, I think you'll need to edit the configuration file explicitly if you're using the standalone Mupen64 - more details are in the docs for the emulator.

@bleckman Look at how the Ports scripts are created - for instance Kodi - and you can replicate it to start the media player. Install Kodi, look at the kodi.sh script that it creates in the ports folder, and copy it and replace the Kodi start sequence with the command to start the program - from the author's instructions.

    @danielrosero said in Retroarch issue:

    ShanWan PC/PS3/Android (8380/21760)

Nevermind, minutes ago found the solution. Looks like the Configure Input option in ES wasn't saving the appropriate cfg filename in /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-joypads

The file ShanWan PCPS3Android.cfg SHOULD BE: ShanWan PC_PS3_Android.cfg

And copy the corrected file to the /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch/autoconfig/ folder.

    And it should work!
