from your screenshot mate, it looks like you're putting all your roms in a compressed zip file. While retropie recognises zip files, they have to be zipped individually with the name of the rom. This is why in your list it just says "add games here" as that is the name of your zip. Take them out of that zip file and then zip them individually and then reboot.

Latest available version of Kodi in Raspbian Jessie/RetroPie is 17.4 because 17.5 and 17.6 do not compile anymore on Jessie due to new ffmpeg patches which are not compatible with gcc 4.9.2.
To fix it we need to use a newer version of gcc or make the patches compatible with gcc 4.9.2. Either way is not easy to fix, I will see what I can do.

i have solved it now thanks , there is a button in retropie menu to disable it, the image was motion blue + attract mode. all the music fades out before the emulators loads, apart from daphne and c64. like they have not been added to the music script or something. thanks for your reply

Once I️ read your post I️ tried hooking up the pi to my tv. Shutdown, reboot. Shutdown reboot. No issues. Thank you posting this, I’ll bet this is why a lot of people are having the same issue!

D'oh seems they have added extra move from other versions of this game.

See what @BobHarris also said. If you mapped the now 'xbox' button as Hotkey, then it will replace what you previously used (Select) in the button combinations you're trying now. If you left the Hotky button unmapped, then the input dialog will ask you if you want to use Select and then it should work as in ver. 4.1.
