@backstander if you give user root a password , then on your ssh program you just log in as root and you can dump the files anywhere on the pi without getting permissions denied.

You missed searching the official guides. Do that next time instead of random youtubers that will get stuff wrong or leave stuff out. Though, something that's missing in the wiki.. "scph7502.bin" (not in caps either) works just fine too.

@tyreal90 never mind I restarted my pi and it works again, thanks anyway, I thought I broke something. XD

It seems that indeed, the configuration itself was the problem.
When I reconfigured the controls in the libretro GUI menu, it overwrote the /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-joypads/xxxx.cfg files with some new values - different ones that jstest prints.
I had to edit the files for the special commands, like 'exit emulator', 'save', 'load', but basically it works now properly.
Interestingly the emualtionstation works as if nothing had been changed.
And nes, snes, psx games also understand now the key presses on my noname gamepads.
BTW: They are Terios T3, bluetooth stuff.

@TMNTturtlguy could be the usb bluetooth device you are using. Mine worked great. Mine isnt one of those nano adapters though. Mines about an inch long.

@Hubz It's a known issue on a few controllers, yours and the iBuffalo SNES seem to suffer the most.(perhaps because they are commonly used with RetroPie). It seems to be a Pi or Raspbian issue rather tban specifically a RetroPie issue. When I test my iBuffalo SNES in terminal using jstest random inputs are registered there. Normally d-pad inputs. No-one knows the cause, so no known fix. At this time.

@mediamogul the flashback ones came in two small ziplock baggies. Then i put my homebrew ones in a small ziplock baggie as well.

@Allanbuzzy I'm not sure the Raspberry Pi will allow you to raid USB devices together.
